Parody Song Title:

"Pot Noodle"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

No, I'm not /really/ saying they put bits of dog into Pot Noodles...
Pot, Pot, Pot Noodle
Pot, Pot, Pot Noodle

Mucky stuff, yucky stuff
Bogie in a powder
You're pourin' in some water
Turns it into chowder
Let's get a milkshake, fill it up with glutamate
Buy some try some whoops-upset-tum

Chuck it up, Pot Noodle
Chuck it up, Pot Noodle

Scoobie Doobie Doo is
(in a Pot Noodle)
Snot, snot, goo is
(in a Pot Noodle)
Scoobie Doobie Doo is
(in a Pot Noodle)
Snot, snot, goo is
(in a Pot Noodle)

Lap dog, bulldog, shnauzer, poodle
Every kind of dog is in a Pot Noodle
Chuck it up, Pot Noodle
Chuck it up, Pot Noodle
Pot, Pot, Pot Noodle

Spewing in the subway
Most unappealing
So full of additives
I'm on the ceiling

Wanna have a full stomach
Don't wanna throw from it
Eenie meenie tummy pain
Oops here it comes up again

Chuck it up, Pot Noodle
Chuck it up, Pot Noodle

Scoobie Doobie Doo is
(in a Pot Noodle)
Snot, snot, goo is
(in a Pot Noodle)
Scoobie Doobie Doo is
(in a Pot Noodle)
Snot, snot, goo is
(in a Pot Noodle)

Eat it...

Now you know what to say...

Chuck it up, Pot Noodle
Pot, Pot, Pot Noodle

All around the world
Wherever you are
Eat in the street (anything you like)
Eat it in your car (in the middle of the night)

Eating in the car park
Driving down the fast lane
Wind down the window
Look out! it comes up again

Ain't a tasty snack
I prefer a six-pack
If it always comes back
It's kind of a drawback

Chuck it up, Pot Noodle
Chuck it up, Pot Noodle

Scoobie Doobie Doo is
(in a Pot Noodle)
Snot, snot, goo is
(in a Pot Noodle)
Scoobie Doobie Doo is
(in a Pot Noodle)
Snot, snot, goo is
(in a Pot Noodle)

Chuck it...

Lap dog, bulldog, shnauzer, poodle
Every kind of dog is in a Pot Noodle
Chuck it up, Pot Noodle
Chuck it up, Pot Noodle
Pot, Pot, Pot Noodle
Pot, Pot, Pot Noodle

Now... throw it away before you
Throw it up
Pot, Pot, Pot Noodle
Pot, Pot, Pot Noodle

Phil, I must say thank you for getting this song stuck in my head again...Goddamnit....lol, "London, Berlin, Paris, Munich, everybody loves that Pop music!" Oh God, Stop the insanity!

Kev, thanks - I'm glad my words went down well, too :-) (though I must admit to having a "Rainbow in the Dark" parody, about Dio's fixation with rainbows - it's been on the drawing board for quite a while now, has a lot of good bits in it, but I can't think of a title I like... "Rainbow in the Words

hey... comments get truncated - must remember that :-)
Billy: I think you'll find actual lyrics are: New York,London,Paris,Munich /Everybody talk about pop music
...but then again, I've done the same thing to myself (lap dog, bulldog, schnauzer, poodle...)

Just lookin' back over some oldies here... this is hilarious! This should be in the overall top ten, why this is so short on votes I can't fathom....
Phil Alexander - April 03, 2003 - Report this comment
Thanks, Merry - "so short of votes", I guess must mean that people don't remember the original: when I came to write this (after thinking up the "lapdog, bulldog schnauzer poodle" line) I was surprised how many words the song had - took me much longer than normal to write because there's so many words to put in.

(P) Is Pot Noodle a brand? Maybe not dog but there is a fair amount of mystery meat in some Oriental food which is the closest thing I thought of when I read this.
Phil Alexander - October 14, 2005 - Report this comment
You don't have Pot Noodle in the US? (You are in the US, aren't you?) Maybe there is hope for civilization after all... PN is a mixture of elastic bands, sawdust and monosodium glutamate onto which one pours boiling water, and then "enjoys" (usually with the feeling that it's at least the second time someone has "enjoyed" that bit of food). Possibly the foulest muck ever to masquerade as a meal.
Red Ant - October 14, 2005 - Report this comment
Phil, are you referring to what Americans (yes, I'm in the US) call "Ramen Noodles" (and variations of the name)? If so, I must say they aren't as bad as you describe and for roughly 10 cents you get what you pay for; an over-processed brick of noodles that serves one person that comes with a package of flavored dissolvable sawdust that is mostly salt and MSG. If you boil them for exactly 3 minutes and rinse they are *somewhat* edible.

(ABC05) gee, you've gotta be good to do this OS, which you are Phil - "Lap dog, bulldog, shnauzer, poodle Every kind of dog is in a Pot Noodle" - LOL

(ABC) Heh heh! Hey, speaking of dogs, why dontcha do a follow-up meta-parody, "Not Poodle" ?
Phil Alexander - October 18, 2005 - Report this comment
Interesting idea, JD - sort of a reply from Unilever (incidentally, I had to google who made Pot Noodle, and came up with this from the Unilever website:
Launched in Britain in 1979, the Pot Noodle brand is Unilever’s original and definitive instant hot-snack. It now leads as the 23rd largest food brand in the UK with a 95% share in the £105 million hot snack market. We sell four pots every second!
....four pots per second? Scary.)

Want to know what's REALLY scary, Philbo? "It now leads as the 23rd largest food brand in the UK" ... 23, let it be, 23, yeah, let it be ... flush that pot of noodles ... let it be!
Phil Alexander - October 18, 2005 - Report this comment
Yep... somebody actually used the phrase "leads as the 23rd largest"

(ABC) Y'know Phil...the best thing about Pot Noodles is the ads....filthy! Hehehehe 555

(ABC) I always thought 'pot noodle' was cockney slang for 'poodle'... nice idea and well written, as always.

(ABC05) Never heard Pot Noodle. Does it come in Sweet and Sour Chop Chihuahua flavour? Funny, Phil. 555

ABC--just the reminder of the original song would have been enough...but your lyrics were FABulous, too, Phil!
