The Lyrics

I heard part of "Hallelujah" being played at Fenway Park during a memorial service for the victims of the Boston Marathon Bombing and subsequent violence. Including the lines "Maybe there's a God above, but all I ever learned from love, was how to shoot somebody who outdrew you". I guess that commemorated the police officer who was shot trying to apprehend the two suspects. "Hallelujah" does have a stately pace and sounds very somber and dignified, but does anyone listen to lyrics anymore? I did find out as I type my version, that May 26, 1927 was the date the last of 15 million Model T Ford cars rolled off the assembly line. So, my lyrics, while perhaps not as profound as Mr Cohen's, do relate somewhat to the day I am uploading them.
I heard there was a car named "Cord"
It wasn't built by Henry Ford
But you don't care for vintage autos, do you?
Then again, someone like me
Delights to hear a Model T
The klaxon horn that sounds like this: "Ah-oo-gah"

Sounds "Ah-oo-gah", sounds "Ah-oo-gah"
Sounds "Ah-oo-gah", sounds "Ah-oo-gah"

It had four wheels with wooden spokes
The butt of countless songs and jokes
It backfired louder than a German Luger
The gears you shifted with your feet
The gas tank filled beneath the seat
And from the horn there came a squawk, "Ah-oo-gah"

Squawk "Ah-oo-gah", squawk "Ah-oo-gah"
Squawk "Ah-oo-gah", squawk "Ah-oo-gah"

An air conditioner it lacked
Most all of them were painted black
To start one with a crank was sure a booger
But it could tote a heavy load
And navigate the roughest road
Scaring horses with its horn, "Ah-oo-gah"

Scared "Ah-oo-gah", scared "Ah-oo-gah"
Scared "Ah-oo-gah", scared "Ah-oo-gah"

Sedans, coupés, and pick-up trucks
A roadster cost three hundred bucks
Amazing price, you couldn't get much frugal-er
Ford's workers got the highest pay
At least five dollars every day
So each of them could have his own "Ah-oo-gah"

Own "Ah-oo-gah", own "Ah-oo-gah"
Own "Ah-oo-gah", own "Ah-oo-gah"

Soon everybody drove a car
When traveling both near and far
And no one rode the Choo-Choo Chattanooga
Folks bought them at a frenzied pace
The whistle's shrill they'd soon replace
With the raucous, piercing shriek of the "Ah-oo-gah"

The "Ah-oo-gah", the "Ah-oo-gah"
The "Ah-oo-gah", the "Ah-oo-gah"

The year was nineteen hundred nine
On a Michigan assembly line
A crew with wrenches and a hot melt glue gun
Constructed something meant to last
A hundred years and more have passed
The coil still sparks, the horn still groans "Ah-oo-gah"

Groans "Ah-oo-gah", groans "Ah-oo-gah"
Groans "Ah-oo-gah", groans "Ah-oo-gah"
Groans "Ah-oo-gah", groans "Ah-oo-gah"
Groans "Ah-oo-gah", groans "Ah-oo-gah"
