The Lyrics

A Sunday entry...
I was knocking at your door
Till my hand was getting sore
Had to spread the word of God
Had to spread the word of God

I wasn't there to bug you
The sign said "No solicitors"
I showed up here to save you
I'm just a zealous guy

I just wanted you to look
At this best-selling little book
Didn't want to be a pain
I am really not insane

I wasn't there to wake you
I know you said, "Just go away"
I showed up here to wake you
I'm just a zealous guy

I see anger in your eyes
Let me now apologize
Didn't see the David star
Guess I'll leave you as you are

I wasn't there to bug you
I know your people killed my Lord
I showed up here to free you
I'm just a zealous guy
Amen, I'm just a zealous guy
Don't shoot, I'm just a zealous guy

Will you convert? No, no, no no. Good one, Rick.

two hippies let those guys in once, over here in Oz, and gave them hash cookies - they freaked out, thought they'd gone insane or to hell, and called an ambulance - then they sued the hippies, who were found guilty and punished severely - let that be a lesson to NEVER let them in - 555 Rick

I'm a jealous guy, Rick, 'cause you thought of this before I did...5's...
Tim Mayfield - November 15, 2004 - Report this comment
I gave you 5's even though I can't figure this part out: "I wasn't there to wake you I know you said, "Just go away" I showed up here to wake you"

It was a poor attempt at a double meaning. He didn't mean to wake him up from slumber, but he did want to "wake" him to the "word". Sometime I write and post these very fast.

"I know your people killed my Lord" I'll never understand that heresy. The Jews didn't kill Jesus- I did.

That last comment was sick. And, no, the Jews didn't technically kill Jesus. Pontius Pilate was in charge of that, and he was Italian. If you are a believer, like I am, then you should blame no one. It was in the Plan.
Steven Cavanagh - November 16, 2004 - Report this comment
That's what I meant, 'someone'. If you are a believer (like I am) you'll know that Jesus had to die because of our rebellion. We cannot blame the Jews, nor can we blame 'no one'. While it was in the plan, the responsibility for his death lies on all of us, because we all want to rule our own lives in God's place. I killed Jesus, and so did you.
