The Lyrics

I know this ain't too funny, or entirely accurate. I was just looking to mock this Frank Zappa song (Who himself mocked music). I know I'm off by a year, and I'm not well versed in the crime. I just try to be well-versed lyrically.
I got an "X" on my forehead
To show you where to aim
Killed Sharon Tate back in '68
But still I'm not to blame
I had my little posse
I guess I got too bossy
I told them gals how to use a knife
Show biz people wound up losing life
I'm that Manson foo-ooo-oo-l
I'm that Manson foo-ooo-oo-l
I hear that song, I don't know right from wrong
Helter Skelter, Bong! And I'm that
Manson foo-oo-ool
I'm that Manson foo-ooo-oo-l

I acted like a hippie
Only dressed to kill
I walked on in with my bayonet
Needed someone's blood to spill
Crazy and I'm comin'
No conscience was my guide
Then they saw fit to me commit
For all that homicide
I'm that Manson foo-ooo-oo-l
I'm that Manson foo-ooo-oo-l

The years go on, my sentence long
The years go on, my sentence long
The years go on, my sentence long

I may be totally nuts, but I'm that Manson foo-ooo-oo-l
I may be totally nuts, but I'm that Manson foo-ooo-oo-l

Youwsa, Youwsa, Youwsa
My mind is quite together now
With my very old prison grey, hey
I'm still not guilty, I tell myself
Just like my pal O. J.
I'm not really wacko
The parole board don't agree
So joke your little joke
Think what you will think
While I live in fantasy
I'm that Manson foo-ooo-oo-l
I'm that Manson foo-ooo-oo-l
I may be totally nuts, but I'm that.....
I may be totally nuts, but I'm that.....
I may be totally nuts, but I'm that fool

Hey darlin'...can I buy ya a drink?
Lookin' for mister behind bars? here he is...
Wait a minute...I've got it...you're a pot smoker!
Hah?
Yer newish?
Love your tattoos...you must be a lifer...
Your place or mine?

Not as un-funny as you think....

Holy CRAP I love this one. I know what you mean about not getting everything exactly accurate, too. I figure most people have more or less the same general knowledge I do and if I'm wrong well, that's life. Anyway, hilarious--"Lookin' for mr. behind bars?"--this is one of the few Zappa songs I know pretty well and well, this parody rules.

Zappa songs are (in my mind, anyway) kinda tough to parody. If I was a real ass hole, I could probably dock ya for missing a few of his vocal rhythms here and there. But I'm not a real ass hole, so I give ya all 5's. Acuracy-wise...it's accurate enough for the common man to understand I think. I did anyway. Good job.

I think Saddam Hussein and Charles Manson should share the same prison cell. I'm sure they could share some interesting stories with each other.

Rick - excellent job. I wonder if Charlie is allowed to Web Surf in whatever prison he is in out here...brrrr...It was 1969. I remember it sure changed hitch-hiking around here forever. Not really ever that great an idea, never know who the other person is, really. But it got impossible to do after ole Charlie's famous "freaked-out" picture got splashed hugely across the front of the L.A. Times sometime around October that year...I think I did it twice more after that. The 2nd time the guy suddenly pulled over t the shoulder on the 405 FREEWAY, motioned to the door and said, "Well, here's were you get off". But I was just as freaked out about him anyway and was more than happy to get out and climb down the ivy freeway embankment into someplace in West L.A. - Ahhh...memory lane...

Good job on the parody. I have to agree with Karlando Zappa songs are hard to parody 555.
