Often, a new artist can announce their arrival with a particularly good cover, made uniquely their own. THE absolutely worst piece of "music" to ever disgrace a vinyl disk, featuring a guitar riff that wouldn't challenge the skill of a day care center guitarist. How anyone could have promoted that song with a straight face is beyond our powers of comprehension

I didn't (promote this song with a straight face)! The gibberish between the yodelling sounded to me like that town in Wales with the really long place name... & who'd have thunk it, it's got exactly the same number of syllables, so I thought I'd be failing in my duty if I didn't get that into a song!
