The Lyrics

Be cool, don't mess with rules
When I was young
I loved to cheat on everyone
and selling crap was just for fun
those days are done

Living alone,
I think of all the dough i've blown
I get one call on the telephone
but no ones home

locked in my cell
don't wanna be
locked in my cell
anymore

hard to be cool
without my decorating tools
I shouldn't have messed with the rules
I'm such a fool

locked in my cell
don't wanna be
locked in my cell
anymore

Nice job on a song with minimal lyrics!

I'm with MasonR. Especially liked the "decorating tools" verse.

FREE MARTHA! If she was poor, black, and male she'd never have been pursued the way she was. What a waste of taxpayer money!

Heh heh heh! 5's

You probably meant if she was poor, WHITE and male, she'd never have been pursued the way she was. Anyway, both statements are false and racist. Martha should be sent to prison like any other citizen that breaks the law. Rules are rules!

Martha IS white, silly. Unless I'm missing something, in which case, my apologies.

But stop calling people racist -- it's a cheap liberal trick, and I don't fall for that crap. And PLEASE don't even try that lame "I didn't say YOU were racist -- the COMMENT was racist", flip-flopping, backsliding crap.

Yes, you are missing a whole lot. Martha maybe white, but she's not a white MALE. And if it IS true, then I'll keep calling people racist. It is not a cheap liberal trick. Racism is a cheap trick no matter who's doing it. And I WON'T state that the comments were racist, per your request.

I didn't even mention that blacks outnumber whites in prison 3 to 1, and none of them are treated as fair or as kindly as Martha (or any white collar criminal) is now. That is a FACT, not a racist statement.

If anything, Martha got off light. If it was your average white-collar crook, they'd be in jail for 10-20 yrs.

I entirely agree with Outraged, and anyone who disagrees is either willfully ignorant or just plain not bright enough to see his (her?) point. If she were poor, black and male she'd never have been pursued the way she was. She might have been pursued with dogs, maybe. Or by a lynch mob. But certainly not the way she was. (It was a JOKE, morons. Race and sex are irrelevant: How many poor people do you know of that get investigated for insider trading?) Who's that hispanic comedian that says he has more freedom of speech than white people do, and if any white people don't believe him, just try repeating one of his jokes at work next week? Oh yeah, the parody. Pretty good.
