"Floccinaucinihilipilification Seems To Be The Hardest Word"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

What have you got to say to make your tongue weep?
What have you got to say to sound impaired?
What do you do when spoken word stinks?
And you trip through sounds that make you swear?

What do you lose when words are wanton?
Who of your friends were crude when they heard?
When do you pray for word’s less bolder?
When floccinaucinihilipilification seems to be the hardest word.

Be mad, be sad
It’s a mad, sad bit of diction
And I’m thinking word is pure absurd
Be mad, be sad
Can Webster strike this ogre?
Cos at least to me
That floccinaucinihilipilification seems to be the hardest word.

Be glad, a tad
It’s a tad, glad situation
When you find with ease a pleasing word
You’re had, my lad
When words re-quire decoder
You’ll, I think, agree
That floccinaucinihilipilification seems to be the hardest word.

How do you find best words to ease speech?
When do you have to choose to reword?
Better to choose your nouns more care-flee
That’s what you’ve got to do
When you've got verbal shrew
For floccinaucinihilipilification, is to me, the hardest word.

Not novel (I have 3 similar parodies), but I loved it--555!!! Beats Antidisestablishmentarianism by 1 letter ;-D

Is this a real word? I know it's a real parody.. :)

Yes: the estimation of something as valueless... but is still not the longest modern word. pneumoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis is!!!

Gee, I don't know Warren... I had real trouble pacing it... LOL, just kidding, I wasn't the pacing una-bomber. Pity they couldn't cope with the irony of the 9 extra syllables you 'mistakenly' let slip through! Funny idea, good work.

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Just saying that word, largely unheard, Is without a doubt- atrocious 34 letters in that word Simply to say “fantastic” Drop 25 letters of the absurd And what remains is less “elastic” Now here’s the latest, longest word To remember it requires hypnosis A medical term no one wants to learn Pneumoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis Who thinks up these dreadful words To make themselves look bright? They’ll never come up in conversation I’d rather just say Gesundheit!!!

Porfle- Gracias!
Rob- I was thinking of using some other words (like the technical name for DNA which clocks in at over 200,000 letters), but I decided against it for health reasons. I have hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia.
AFW- Real word, as Rob pointed out. One of us needs to figure out something to rhyme with it...
Peregrin- I knew going in that I'd get at least one unabomb, but luckily the irony wasn't missed on many of you good folk.
Thanks, everyone, for the comments and votes.

Holy Statsverordnetenversamlugen Batman! Makes me wish I had triplets so I could name them Flocci, Nauci and Nihili...

Thanks, Meriadoc. But you have me curious on what Statsverordnetenversamlugen means. Perhaps "a specific type of verse which contains 10 couplets and is exclusively practiced by poetry loving statisticians"?

Asseocarnisanguineoviscericartilaginonervomedullary Just saying that word, profoundly absurd, Would be without a doubt- involuntary! 51 letters in that word Simply to say “structure of the human body” Drop 28 letters and rest assured What remains is a more understandable topic Now here’s the latest, longest word To the uninformed it may seem exotic Spa waters at Bath, England: Aequeosalinocalcalinosetaceoaluminosocupreovitriolic Who thinks up these dreadful words To make themselves look bright? They’ll never come up in conversation Except for (maybe with) an eidetiker possessing third sight!!!

Beware of long German words for the record b/c many of them are made-up and not used on a daily basis in the German language. Here is one example: Elfenbeinküstenaturschutzparkleitergeländewagenschalthebelbruchreparaturversuchsbewilligungzurückweisungsantragsformularausfüllungshilfebegleitzettelfehler!!!

Rob.. thought I'd see what the translation of that would be. I'd got as far as an elf leg.. before trying google translate: "Ivory Coast conservation park manager suv switching lever fracture repair trial authorization request for form-fill-refoulement help accompanying note error"

..obviously a word in everyday usage :)
