The Lyrics

A great day for American justice: Albert Gonzales, the worst Attorney General in our history, has resigned! At the risk of doing another Elton song, starting out, "Goodbye, Alberto G..." here goes.
(instrumental break)

Heard that the news had come down.
Heard his crash finally land.
So send him back to the farm.
Bush should have listened to his old man.

We couldn't have stood him forever.
We didn't sign up for him.
He's not a guy who is honest and open.
Department of Justice was slingin'
so grim!
Oh, oh, oh...
Oh, oh, oh...

So goodbye, you Bush boot-lick toad!
And the U.S. society cheers!
You can't hold on there at Justice!
We're drinking champagne and not beers!

Back to the State you and Bush both screwed up.
Pack up your gear in a load.

Oh, you finally decided your future's fried!
So long, you Bush boot-lick toad!
Oh, oh, oh...
Oh, oh, oh...
Yeah!

What do you think he'll do then?
He even gave Bush some pain.
It'll take him a couple of vodker and tonics
to settle his weak mind again!

Who's gonna be his replacement?
There's plenty like him to be found.
Mongrels, to Bush they are loyal
not to the Constitution.
They're unsound!

Yeah!

Nicely done! I had to pull over to whoop and holler when I heard the news. 555

Thank you, everyone. I'm now convinced that Bush got Gonzales to "resign" now, to take the pressure off Larry Craig. And if you haven't heard by now, let's just say there'll be a parody on the subject tomorrow. Hopefully, mine will be one of many! 2Eagle: There's a parody to this OS about people who get high by licking toads, so that's probably where I got the title.

Not to stick up for this administration, but articles I've read said that Bush actually tried to talk Gonzo out of resigning. Which only makes Bush look worse to me.

I can see why Bush would try to talk Gonzo out of resigning. Who else would be that loyal to him? Now he's gotta find a new one, one who would get confirmed by a Democratic-controlled Senate. And that's hard work. It's hard work. It's hard work. But, as you may have noticed, this Administration IS a stick-up!
