The Lyrics

It was fun for a while, but now it's getting ridiculous..............mp3 of the OS temporarily available here

I can abide
no more earthly hot - ness
All my pictures
are of me at the seaside
I'm growin' tired
of picking out which shorts to wear
and frozen shakes
that I have to make my wife

too late...
to buy some shares in Haaaaagen Dasz
I blew my chance
(dismissed it as a fad)
yeah I misread
how eagerly the Sun wants to...
punish us
for our pungent......gas emissions
ohhhhh

Don't let the su - u - un
global warm me
although I fan myself, it's always ninety-one degrees
I'd kill for just a fragment of an ice-
berg to refreeze

I sizzle every day
as the
sun global-warms poor me

I can't find
one of those Canary Isles
it was there once
but now it's disappeared
and Tasmania - now a yacht can sail right over it
there's an ocean view
from halfway up...
the Eiffel Towerrrr
oh

Don't let the su - u - un
global warm me
although I search the earth, there isn't one cool place to be
y'know I'd vote for Al Gore in a trice
if only heeee

could educate the world
to stop
the sun global warm - ing me

[ jump up to a more desperate key ]

Don't let the su - un
global warm me!
at first I liked the heat, but now it's so 2 - 0 - 0 - 3
I'd throw all my banana-lounges away
if Al could PLEASE....

just politely ask the Sun
if he
could stop global warm-
ing
me

Fives I guess, but the fact that the town to the north of mine and the one to the east of mine both are having severe problems with flooding do to the excessive rain this summer (I've so far been able to run in shorts ONCE this year) had me seriosly tempted by the dark side for a moment.

As Paris would say, "That's Hot"

thanks Peter - and we also have been hit by devastating floods in the last week in Australia, "hot" on the heels of the worst droughts in history, where our catchment dams are down to 15% and we're supposed to shower with buckets so we can catch and reuse some of the shower-water - go figure - they say it's the El Ninja following the El Nino - whatever, it's causing huge problems both ways

thanks Matthias - as the Eiffel Tower would say "shut up, Paris"

I had the idea of writing a parody to Paul Simon's "Call Me Al" called "Bore Me Al".. but this is so much funnier :-)

Great work here, Stu. I suppose we can take a tiny bit of comfort in the fact that the poor old ozone layer seems to be showing some signs of recovering from being ultraviolated.

I wouldn't have picked you for an eco-warrior, Stu...this was joyfully meaningful, or meaningfully joyful...the title line was a bit clunky, but that's just nit-picking. 555
