Parody Song Title:

"Ostinato"

Parody Written by:

John A. Barry

The Lyrics

Ostinato, it sometimes quite dense is
and other times tense is.
I hear one now.
Whoa! It's a large one;
initially, it was pleasin’,
but now it is squeezin’ through
my otic canal.

Like a drawn-out stream of whitest noise
it is sounding quite Cage-esque.
He taped his beating heart. . .
wish he was on stage less.
Now, it seems to me a whine thing
in a score that could be pageless;
but for certain it’s constancy’s not gaugeless.

Ostinato goes longer and longer
and stronger and stronger—
hard driving, the tone.
And tedium! Woe, tedium,
like a Congressman talking
and prisoners knocking on the bars of their “home.”

Don’t this beat get old, double, triple time?
You wish they go into a salt mine.
It’s hard to tell the right time when it’s played.
The melody can be high or low,
but the drumlike beating never goes away.

Ostinato.
This endless thrum’s seeming senseless;
I’d also say “Menschless” oh, does it grate!
It’s greatly paining and makes my pain threshold askew.

It bloody well can get to bug you
(get to you and bug you).
It bloody well can get to bug you.
The score you will hate.
