The Lyrics

A song in tribute to English Football club Hull city, and their dramatic rise from the top division to the premiership. any comments, suggestions on improvents would be appreciated. thanks
A long, long time ago
I can still remember
how those boothferry days used to make me smile
Even though I knew we had no chance,
To join the premiership in there dance,
we was happy to dream all the while.

When pearson Joined I did shiver
with the promise hed deliver,
taylor leaves the bad news at the doorstep,
hes going to take us up step by step.

I cant remember if i cried,
the day we left league 2 behind
something touched me deep inside
that day the dream survived

we started singing

my my this here premierships fine,
hull 4 london 0, and were just a small fry
we cant win at home, but away we are fly.
now the old fans cant get tickets and cry
singing im city till the day that i die,
Im city till the day that I die

Now Elliot scored and we fell in love,
and he had faith in god above,
because the bible told him so,
do you believe in the tiger roar?
can myhill save a certain goal?
woodhouse can you teach me how to gro an afro?

Now taylor, Lewis knows that your in love with him,
cause he saw you staring in the Gym,
and stuart greens seeing your daughter,
so you pick them though you shouldnt oughter..

we was a lonely, under achieving provinicial town,
with a bad reputation, and a sullen frown
but we had thatfrown turned upside down,
the day we went up again.

we were signing

my my this here premierships fine,
hull 4 london 0, and were just a small fry
we cant win at home, but away we are fly.
now the old fans cant get tickets and cry
singing im city till the day that i die,
Im city till the day that I die

now for 2years we were in one place
stuck in a championship relegation race,
so taylor left and parky soon followed,
so in comes browny to be citys king and queen
in a coat he borrowed from jose
and duffens making promises to you and me,

and though we were looking like going down,
browny turned our form around,
relegation was adjurned
our safety it was earned,
Next season we got used to this championship lark,
we started playing teams off the park,
at watford we celebrated long into the dark..

we were singing

my my this here premierships fine,
hull 4 london 0, and were just a small fry
we cant win at home, but away we are fly.
now the old fans cant get tickets and cry
singing im city till the day that i die,
Im city till the day that I die.

sat at wembley in a summer swelter
deano came and hit a belter,
after an age the whistle blows at last
as players collapse onto the grass,
the fans jump around and have a blast
we have reached the promise land at last!

now that summer was sweet perfume
as transfer rumours filled every room,
we marveld at geo's samba dance
and we should have sold ryan france,
the players took to the pre-season field
but the likes of crewe refused to yield,
our lack of striking talent was revealed
though that day our dream survived

we were singing

my my this here premierships fine,
hull 4 london 0, and were just a small fry
we cant win at home, but away we are fly.
now the old fans cant get tickets and cry
singing im city till the day that i die,
Im city till the day that I die.

Against fulham we were all in one place,
generations of city fans all off there face
as folan slides it home,
victories followed on reall quick,
arsenal and spurs going down to geo's right stick
the media becomes brownys closest friend.

10 games in and we were centre stage
king browny was all the rage
but that half time team talk was pr hell
and broke the media spell.
and as we went weeks without a win,
people started to begin,
to wonder if browny as manager was right?
even still the dream survived

we were singing

my my this here premierships fine,
hull 4 london 0, and were just a small fry
we cant win at home, but away we are fly.
now the old fans cant get tickets and cry
singing im city till the day that i die,
Im city till the day that I die.

january started and we had the blues,
we all wanted some happy news,
browny smiled and turned away
he bought players at the bargain store
and our squad ends up worse than before,
and my word they really dont know how to play..

in the stands the fans they screamed
some children cried, critics gleamed
on message boards harsh words were spoken,
browny and the team looked broken
but the team that i admire most,
stayed up because duffs own goal went between the post
thats why the dream survived

and browny was singing

my my this here premierships fine,
hull 4 london 0, and were just a small fry
we cant win at home, but away we are fly.
now the old fans cant get tickets and cry
singing im city till the day that i die,
Im city till the day that I die...
