The Lyrics

Two of my favorite candies in the 1970s were long stick flavored bubble gum and Dynamints (made by Dentyne)!!! Used to buy them before school and fold the gun into my jacket pockets while tucking the Dynamints into my jeans. Despite strong teacher warnings NOT to bring such contraband into class, I did it all the time. Sadly, both of these types of candies gave way to Bubblicious bubble gum and Tic Tacs! The OS from TV is from the '70s but Cyndi Lauper sang the theme song on TV Land, so I credit her while keeping the original decade for the TV Show...
Long Stick bubble gum and Dynamints, meeting my sugar needs
Easy to hide in pocket size, tucked into my jeans
Teachers lurking everywhere, in school I had to beware
Always poppin' and chewin' them, being careful not to get snared!

Long Stick bubble gum and Dynamints!

Teachers lurking everywhere, in school I had to beware
Always poppin' and chewin' them, being careful not to get snared!

So Cyndi Lauper existed before "girls just wanna have fun"? The World is full of surprises! DKTOS so no vote. (Hmm... did she exist after too?)

Couldn't find who sang the OS but remember Cyndi Lauper performing it in the 2000s for a TV Land special. The show, however, was from the 1970s. And for those that don't know Dynamints, here's a pic: http://farm1.static.flickr.com/38/78114804_1b03c8f66b.jpg
