The Lyrics

This combines the old nursery rhyme with the OS. So imagine if David Crosby tried to cook food for the group? Something like this could happen...
4 + 20 blackbirds here
they're baked into this pie
I stuck my thumb down in it
and said "A good boy am I"
And just then...
I felt a beak
rip into my thumb
the pain caused me
to shriek
So I can't play my gui-tar now
for a week

I marched right up to Dave Crosby
and stood there toe-to-toe
"Guy, when you made that pie
those birds were still alive, you know
You...
Should have told me so
I stuck my thumb in there
and they bit it, bro'
Now I cannot play my gui-tar
so I moan"

Crosby crinkled his eyes then
he laughed and shook his head
His attitude annoyed me
and so this is what I said
"Say, Dave...
you should apologize
at least
Live birds don't belong in pies
first they should be deceased
'Cause when cooped up in a pie
like that
a turd they might release"

JD - I was also thinking about CSN as the "Three Stooges" again, too...I guess that makes Stills "the 2nd smartest one", doesn't it ~ ~ ~ whoop-boop-oop ~ ~ ~ alvin - I missed that one when I was thinking about it - hey, maybe a follow up piece to this one...Thanks!!!

Yea...do one about bluebirds! I need the 'blue' stuff anyway. Heehee on this one. I like it, Paul!

Adagio, as soon as I saw alvin's comment I thought about the "blue" issue we discussed earlier...amusing, for sure. And, I was JUST looking up an OS to use for a "bluebird" pie parody...I'll see if I can come up with something...Just wrote a new tune to replace the old, hackneyed, "Happy Birthday"...I didn't quite follow the suggested format, since we were supposed to use a song most everybody would know...but I did it anyway...it will be over in the Messageboard section on the thread ChuckyG created about needing a new "Birthday" song...

AFW - Thanks! Oh...if you think READING it is funny, d/l or somehow acquire the OS audio and check if out with that...

Great job, Paul! I don't know what happened here. I know I read this when it posted and I liked it but, didn't vote and comment I guess (Duh). I was just going through the performer index, looking for a CSN or CSNY OS to parody, when I saw this and re-read it.

Rick C - maybe thinking about Crosby (especially the idea of Crosby cooking) temporarily short-circuited your brain. Say, as someone who seems very familiar with CSN you might like some of my "CSN - The Thumb Album" parody project. I did all 10 of the songs from their debut album with some type of "Thumb" theme...(such as "Marrakesh Express" as "Thumbed Out(A Baseball Manager's Lament)". I didn't post them in one thread at the time because I was doing them on the fly(also, I didn't know how to do that back then)..I committed to doing it before I even knew what to do with a couple of them...Thanks for stopping back by.
