Song Parodies -> "Who Stopped Your Brain?"

Original Song Title:

"Who'll Stop the Rain?"

 (MP3)
Original Performer:

Creedence Clearwater Revival

Parody Song Title:

"Who Stopped Your Brain?"

Parody Written by:

Merry & Pippin

The Lyrics

Long as I remember
You've played the funny clown
Histrionics boring
Stupidity renowned
You've got all the brain cells
Of a hot dog bun
It's no wonder
That I wonder
Who stopped your brain?

You went down the river
Swingin' golf clubs in a storm
'Cause you were unstable
And now you're all aglow
Now your scans have revealed
Crap synaptic chains
In the thunder
How you blundered
Who stopped your brain?

Saw you football playing
No helmet you wore
Defences rushed together
Trying to deform
Red corpuscles falling
Pouring from your ears
Split asunder
Sporting blunder
Who stopped your brain?

Great job, you guyals! You've suddenly started posting a lot more parodies recently, too - it's great to be reading new creations from you two again!

Nice job, but one question: What the hell is a "defence"? Don't tell me you had to turn in your S's at Customs!

Yep, Pacho, I meant to get on my partner in crime about that faulty Southern Hemisphere spell checker! :-D

Good job! Got a little vivid with your description in the last verse, though! :D

Mer & Pip, fantastic job. The "Darwin Awards" subject theme is a new slant on this original song. I like it. Oh, In your "defence" I believe (although I am not certain) that the British use the "c" in spelling this word. I would roam around and check it but I'm just learning to use the programs and set-up on my friend's PC up here in Willitts and am not too smooth at navigating around it yet. It may start to sink in soon.

This went from about 8 to 17 votes in half a day? As much as I'd like it to be true, I have to wonder if there is a glitch here. Then again, it is listed at the top of today's entries. But maybe Chucky should check it?
Paul Robinson - January 13, 2004 - Report this comment
Meriadoc, Does the site have a '"Good Sportmanship" (or "SportWomanship") award? You're comment on the vote count certainly would qualify you in my book. Maybe I'll try to vote again and see if it gets recorded. I'm sure I submitted it when was here last night. I'm doing that right now with the total vote count at 17...

ChuckyG, Ow! I was trying to do a good deed and got bounced out by "Twit Control"! Still, I understand what you're doing so I'm ok. Anyhow, FYI - the site did not accept a 2ND VOTE on this song from me so that part is ok. Unless it's somehow doubling the earlier ones the 17 count would seem legit to me. But then, what do I really know about how that stuff works? (The answer to that is "Nothing, really").

TOO funny ! Well done !

Very good parody. Is about anyone in particular? If so, why does Gerald Ford come to mind?
Peregrin - January 13, 2004 - Report this comment
Thanks all! John J, I have a friend who roughly qualifies under the above description, but I will say that it is just one of thos parodies born out of thinking about the title, and the rest went from there!
Johnny D - January 20, 2004 - Report this comment
Peregrin, yes, yes!! That's how I like to do parodies when the inspiration presents itself - dream up a title and go from there! It really really works!

Johnny D --Aha, another of your twisted parody-writing secrets has been wheedled out of you...Soon we will, ha-ha, have the "secret formula". heh-heh-heh...(I'd rub my hands together and twirl my mustache but I've got to watch out - could lead to a relapse).
