The Lyrics

Yeah, I know....none of you have the vaguest idea of how this OS sounds...the only Brewer & Shipley you MIGHT know is "One Toke Over The Line". But these guys were absolutely fantastic (probably still are if they are still playing anywhere). Anyway, this OS was actually written by Steve Cash of the Ozark Mountain Daredevils on THEIR 1st album, but I much prefer the Brewer & Shipley version, which appeared on their "Rural Space" album release sometime in the mid-to-late 70's.
Well, I knew it was bull-sh*t
from the moment I heard
There was just no truth to it
not a single damn word
But it started this folly
it sent us to War
And those assh*les in charge
will not tell us what for

Damn Iraq lies
from the President
told to us on purpose
George Bush was War bent
Now the price that we pay
has got us all on edge
It's clear that we've been screwed
by this lyin' half-wit

Now our soldiers are dyin'
many good men gone down
while the place they are fightin'
is becoming unwound
But these guys keep on lyin'
on dissent they do frown
Pretty soon the Public
gonna throw them out

These are crass guys
do it cause they can
the United States is
in unstable hands
Loss of life every day
You read it in the press
Seems everything they've done
has turned into a mess

Well, he should be impeached
for the things that he's done
But he cannot be reached
'cause the Republicans
cannot find the gumption
to confront this bum
faced with this assumption
future here looks glum

We'll hear more lies
don't expect the Truth
You should be impatient
time to raise the roof
We must rise up and say
to this President
"Need honesty from you
or back home you'll be sent"

[Instrumental jam out to end fade]
[repeat below lines several times during jam out to end fade]

{No more...}
{Don't want no more}
{Iraq lies...}
yeah, working on some "lighter" material...but I've still got a really pissed off muse with a big 'ole burr in her rear end...

What carol and Michael said. 555.
alvin, Dubya doesn't hear, or burn from, anything that isn't what he wants to hear... just ask Gen. Colin Powell. (else he'd have permanent ear-burn lol)

alvin, thanks - say, how are YOUR ears doing today? TT - Yeah...Jeez, I was just thinking, Dubyah sees like the OS performer I used a couple days ago, Stevie Wonder...Wonder who he hears like? Got a good one for Monday, I think (Hell, I think ALL my stuff is good...lol...but more people will be acquainted with the OS...although maybe not as many as I think...
