The Lyrics

My wife once had an apartment with next-door neighbors who would have their rock band rehearse Boston's "Peace Of Mind" over and over and over...that was the only song they ever played...
I dread every evening when the sun has gone
My upstairs neighbors will start to play
That tired old "Peace Of Mind" Boston song
I grit my teeth as once more they play

Their floor is my ceiling
When I hear that same song they always play (floor is my ceiling)
I begin screaming (floor is my ceiling)
'till they stop playing and walk away
They finally stop and all go away

So many drummers have come and gone
Guitarists played and then said goodbye
Yet they all played only that single song
Why couldn't they play something else, oh why?

Their floor is my ceiling
When I hear that same song they always play (floor is my ceiling)
I begin screaming (floor is my ceiling)
Hoping they'll all drop dead right away
I wish they'd all blow their heads off today!

Now I'm tired and thinking fast
I have a new plan to get my revenge
I wait till their amps are at full blast
Throw main power --- off and on again!
And on again...and on again!

Their amps are now feeling
My voltage surging through treble and bass (amps are now reeling)
They begin screaming (amps are now squealing)
As their amps all explode in their face
Those bastards' amps all blew up in their face!

A much more low tech approach to a denial of service attack. Well done JD. 5s.

Yeah tell us all about it.... we know all about noisy neighbours. Were they ever evicted or did she move out? :-) Great parody on a great song, 5's from us

We also had upstairs neighbors like that. They only played one song. I hated to hear them tune up, because I knew what I was going to hear. Good job!

It's easy to see why you didn't parody "Peace of Mind." And it's obvious that you never had peace of mind while that band was playing!

I still get the shakes when I hear Gordon Lightfoot for the same reason.

Thanks folks! I don't know whatever happened to that band. I don't recall whether or not they were ever evicted, but there were probably other folks living in their vicinity who might have fantasized about doing something even worse than my parody describes!

Excellent job crafting a parody around a very clever title. I think those types are the funniest.
