The Lyrics

Welcome to all the new parody writers out there!. My usual fare at the end of the month is an Award Parody. Since I've missed most of the month, I thought it more appropriate to thow a party instead. So, If I miss someone, believe me I tried to cover you. With 194 named authors, it's an impossible task. SPECIAL THANKS TO: Tim Hall for submitting the idea of having an AMIRIGHT Convention in Vegas. There are some notable pacing flaws, but you experts can sing it. Have fun reading it!
All the authors got together, fate one night
To have a costume party, here at Amiright
Over at the bar, could not believe my eyes
Phil was Captain Morgan, Guy was shaking up Mai Tai's

{reprise}
( It was a bash) It was monster bash
( A monster bash) It was a website smash
( it was a bash) great costumes with flash
( It was a bash) It was an authors bash

Over at their thrones, their costumes really killer
Sat king Malcolm Higgins and queen Royce Miller
And upon the dance floor, all were grooving of course
I saw a little Smurf, dance with a guy named Mr. Horse
{reprise}
(it was a bash...)

I the center of the fest, there sat, a blinking pumpkin
The electric slide was lead, by Rick and Mari Duncan
The Room Full of Monkeys, were stepping left to right
And even Johnny Jenkins, rocked it, into the night
{reprise}
( It was a bash...)

Mike Pacholec was sporting, a Yankee uniform,
Bill Tong attended, as box of popped corn
Even Jeff Ruben, was all made up in football garb
He stopped to get a Happy Meal, 'cause he was really starved
{reprise}
( It was a bash...)

A choir robe was worn, by Ada-gio (Pat)
The Florio's were a pimp'in, and sporting top hats
Some gal's, we're not fimilar with, were looking kind of slinky
We figured out... they're with Spaff, the icing on his Twinkie
{reprise}
( It was a bash...)

STG and Ethan, came far away from school
Jim, Steve, Bubba, Daddy Watt and Rice Cube,
MooRocca, Jan & Fitu, were not in keeping with climate
All of them in getups, of Gilligan's Island
{reprise}
( It was a bash...)

Claude was looking funky, with a bright red fez
Of course, the happy clown, was Bob Gomez
And there were all the young ones, drinking Coca Cola
TJ, Leb and Static moshed with, T Marie and Emi-loca
{reprise}
( It was a bash...)

Now we have two Johnnys, and I don't mean loos
One is into pop, and the other's into blues
One is classic rock, the other's heavy metal
One Johnny has a "D" and the other's name is Ghetto
{reprise}
( It was a bash...)

Now don't you all fret, we did'nt make a slip'in
We could'nt do this tune, without Merry and Pippin
Oh what are they wearing?... Is it soft and supple?
Won First Prize costume, the Invisible Couple.
{reprise}
( It was as bash...)

Floyds Garage dressed, as great big wrecker
Treated to some Stones tunes, by Charlie Decker
Of course it not a party, without a great M C
In a pinstripe zoot suit, webmaster Chucky G
{reprise}
( It was a bash...)

All the rest were Greasers looking like the 50's
And we even had a few, Cheech & Chong hippies
They all looked really cool, they even brought a stash
Diva & the Wild Man, were dressed as biker trash

( It was a bash ) It was A MONSTA BASH!
( A monster bash ) It was a WEBSITE SMASH!
( It was a bash ) Great costumes with FLASH!
( It was a bash ) It was the AUTHORS BASH!

Thanks Diva, for helping out this month!

Unbelievible you two! I think you covered this extremely well. It takes a lot to really get to know this much about everyone on the site. I think the Chalupa awards need to go to you two this month. There are so many great lines in this parody it would take a laundry list here in the comments just to flag them all. Not often does a song give me more than one LOL. I think I got at least one on every verse. This parody should make number one in short order. Very, very well done! Double Mai Tais to you both, on the house!
Melhi - October 29, 2003 - Report this comment
Wow! This is your most impressive authors parody, yet! WOW! I second Guy's Chalupa Awards nomination.
Adagio - October 29, 2003 - Report this comment
Ditto what Guy said. You really came through and followed the 'feel' of the music. 5's of course. :D Thanks for the mention!
Steve Kalafut - October 29, 2003 - Report this comment
Cool! I saw my first name in there. That's good enough when you're one of 194.
John Jenkins - October 29, 2003 - Report this comment
Thanks for the mention and for a great parody. I especially liked the Merry and Pippin verse. I had not heard about the Las Vegas convention - is there anything on the messageboard?

Tears of joy, tears of joy! You guys RULE! 5+5+5
Mr X - October 29, 2003 - Report this comment
60s not 70s

But that doesn't really matter cuz the parody itself was excellent.
Diva - October 29, 2003 - Report this comment
Thanks everyone! We are happy that you enjoyed the party! JOHN: The idea of an AMIRIGHT. COM CONVENTION was sugested by Tim Hall in the comments section. The parody was "Las Vegas Stripper" My tool bar dosen't show the link, but you can look it up and read it, if you'd like.
. Yes 194 writers and that's just the ones with 10 or more parodies!

I'm young!!! Woo-hoo!!! That was a big compliment to me, to even just MENTION me. Once I find out who made the song "Jack and Diane" I'll make a parody called "Diva and Wildman." Lol, thanks! tj out

Guy: Thanks for the Mai Tai's, Man!; and you list of nice comments.
Melhi: No award is required. I do thease tunes for the sheer fun of it.
Pat: I hope you liked your costume, I got the clue from your website.
Steve: Glad I could mention you.
John: I was stoked at the prospect of Tim's convention idea, but we'd need many of the writers to support such a project.
Johnny D, welcome to the site, man!
Mr X: I used MISC as the decade, I knew someone would make a decade comment! LOL!
Royce: Your welcome! You are a fine writer.
Malc congrats on 1000!
Claude, your more than a Monkey to me, hope you liked your hat! It had to rhyme with Gomez!

Thanks everyone, and TJ . Wild Man & I already wrote "Diva & Wild Man" done to the tune of Jack & Diane. It was an introduction parody.

Mr X - October 29, 2003 - Report this comment
i know. I said it didn't even matter anyway. But if you used misc, why does the URL show "70s"?

Oh well. Like I said above, it was excellent, so I voted five five five.

Great Parody! But....... I...... was...... not..... mentioned.... *cries* (er, at least I dont think I was)

I voted 4-5-5 because the original doesn't have that many verses. Or does it?

What I meant was, the orignal doesn't have eleven verses. But I enjoyed this one anyway!
Wild Man - October 29, 2003 - Report this comment
Jared, I did mention you in Chalupian Rapsody Last month, sorry, man, It's impossible to mention everyone.
Wdh, You got a mention a couple of months ago, I was afraid if the parody was too long, I'd have trouble posting it. I always feel awfull if I disappoint people, but this is why I wrote the disclaimer on the top.
Static - October 29, 2003 - Report this comment
Moi? A mention? Well thanks very much! 555, if not a real Chalupa yet, then you'll have to settle for the Underground Golden Deck. Haha I'm ob-SESSED with that game! Again, great job, thanks for the mention.

Guy - October 29, 2003 - Report this comment
Hey Three Dot Com, why did you pace DIva and WM low for having extra verses? That's like dissing them for a great song. Besides extra verses have nothing to do with pace. That four vote should have gone into overall if you want to dock someone for having too many verses. The reason is obvious why the song is longer than the standand number of verses and that was to get as many writers into this parody as possible. :(
Rick D - October 29, 2003 - Report this comment
Wow, Diva/Wild Man . Thanks for the mention. Especially since we're still fairly new. I was just telling Mari yesterday that if the people running this site were to have a convention, we'd go. Vegas is not that far from us. But pick anyplace. we're easy.
Jeff Reuben - October 29, 2003 - Report this comment
This was an excellent job! Even before I realized I was in it. I thought it was a great idea for a parody, and you did it justice.
Wild Man - October 29, 2003 - Report this comment
We almost used Thriller, because the verses were longer, but when we started on Monster Mash, we were having too much fun to stop! I have a job that is very demanding, and I can't see any harm in bending a few rules when I'm at play. We could have written 50 verses, with all the personalities at this site. I doubt that Chucky would consider posting a parody that long. LOL!
Ellipsis - October 29, 2003 - Report this comment
First of all, my name ain't three dot com. Secondly, I guess I misunderstood the concept of pacing. We all know what it's like to be misunderstood, right? But I did like the Parody in general, that's why I put 5 as my overall rating.
Anyway, I'm sorry if my im-perfect vote insulted anybody.

Don't cry Brit. =) Wild Man likes to add new, and current writers to his tributes all the time. Just keep watching at the end of the month for Chalupa Awards. He reads the comment board often. If you write a parody, just ask him to review it. He likes original subjects concepts and funny! (He's real big on funny and even silly parodies.) Try to parody a song that's at least 10 years old, because he dosen't listen to top 40 very often.
Rick D - November 02, 2003 - Report this comment
They're already parodies of music. I looked at the billboard top ten artist/songs, and there was only one name/song that used correct spelling. And that was by a latin geezer named Carlos Santana.

I may be late in getting to this one, but it's still a 5-er. Name the place and time for the convention--or should that be...a "pun"-vention? And I will be there with my guitar ready to rock and roll. I'll be in New York City in April--how about there? Vegas is fine too, or San Francisco, or pretty much anywhere in North America or Mexico. Peace out--enjoyed the song. d;:^)

Diva and Wildman, what state do you live in? I might save up for a few years, and have one in the new Wildwood convention center. Actually, it is only about $456.00 to rent the main room out for a week, so I'll have a convention during Christmas. I know lots of people on this site that live nearby NJ. Lol. tj out, and thanks again!
