The Lyrics

I suppose this is one of those Arwenesque parodies.....
I can't stop this spinning, circling endlessly
Think I'd better close my eyes or, I'm gonna heave

I've been twirling, maybe half the night
Trying to fix an overhead fan light

I. I'm stuck on the ceiling
Blade caught me reeling, and snagged my shirt, you see

Thought that I was handy
Yeah, everything was fine
Till the chair tipped over and I leapt at the wrong time

The fan blade caught my collar
I cannot reach the thing
Movement is restricted, I'm caught in a sling

And I'm stranded, cause I'm all alone
Have to spin till my wife gets back home

I. I'm stuck on the ceiling
High up, pin-wheeling and dizzy as can be

This big fan's a dandy
The heavy duty kind
If it were a cheap one, I would not be in this bind

My hands can't reach the pull chain
It's maddening as hell
Stuck like a piñata on a carousel

It's like something from the Twilight Zone
And I know I'll never live it down

I. I'm stuck on the ceiling
High up, pin-wheeling and dizzy as can be

Fuunnneee!! LIke alvin said...+...it ALSO reminds of one of the 'other' Rick's (D) - pieces...about a cheesey Amusement Park..what was that one? OH, yeah..."Both Rides Now" to Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now"...they only had two crummy rides there...HEY, they could make this the THIRD one...5's, now picture THAT, with the pimply-faced, mininum-wage kid in a striped shirt and straw hat hooking up 5 or 6 'riders' to a series of crappy ceiling fans on an outdoor carousel-type area ~ ~ ~

Funny but I DKTOS. I was thinking for some reason TOS here was "More than a Feeling". I'll trust you and 10 others on the pacing though.

Totally L-ing OL! This is fab, Fab, FABulous, Rick!! 5s, and then some!!

This WOULD be Arwenesque were it not for one (perhaps unobvious to the non-Arwen) problem...I would have fallen off of the chair LONG before I ever got even close to the fan, silly...; )

And, in the spirit of the Arwenesque, I have to say that (in case you haven't noticed that I've been away for a couple of days, which case you are all bastards) I have been attending a conference this week. This morning, about 20 minutes in, my bottle of Diet Pepsi exploded and covered my entire table. (Don't worry, I was able to avoid any stains on my new supa-cute shirt.) The gal next to me handed over a single cocktail napkin to assist me. Sigh. Anyway, after taking a fair amount of time (complete with 3 trips to the breakfast table to get more napkins) to clean up my mess, we were asked to get into our groups to work on our projects, and I picked up my 32 ounce water bottle, and dumped IT all over the table.

I don't think anyone has to guess who's going to be voted "Most Popular" at the awards session tomorrow afternoon...=)

Read this earlier today, just getting 'round to commenting and voting (5s!) --- this is frikkin' genius stuff, Rick.

Thanks Arwen. LOL! You really shouldn't be telling us stuff like this. You know it's going to be in a parody someday. Sorry about your new supa-cute shirt (another LOL) :-) Johnny, thanks dude! The Highlander, his wife and I are working on a collaboration you may like to hear. I'll let you know when it's done.

Really loving the list of Matthias' faves -- and this is SO Arwen, it's hilarious! Great stuff; can't believe I totally missed it!
