The Lyrics

I'm surprised wdh didn't think of this one. It's right up his alley. Disclaimer: There's a little of me in both the narrator and his subject -- just like in the original version.
(long instrumental opening)

There's a place in the world for the hungry young man
with his nutrition charts and his dieting plans.
He refuses to wait, he refuses to stall
and he's always at home inside White Castle's wall
and he's proud of the inches and pounds that he's lost
and he struggles and grumbles about the food's cost
and he likes to be known as the hungry young man.

Give a Mounds bar or two to the hungry young man
with some fries in his mouth and some cash in his hand.
He's been stabbing his meat just as hard as he could.
It's a comfort to know his cholestrol's good.
And he sits in the place with the arches outside
and he's gonna be making intestines collide
and he likes to be known as the hungry young man.

I believe I'm at the age of rosemary and thyme and sage.
I found that learning to cook was a noble fight.
I once believed in fast food too, and windows that I could drive-thru.
But life goes on if you will take a human bite.

And there's always the place for the hungry young man
with his fist on the bar and his angry demand.
And he's never been able to learn from mistakes
so he can't understand why his gut always aches.
But his honor is pure, and his courage as well
and his bathroom has such a notorious smell
and he'll go to his grave as a middle-aged man.

Take care of yourself, Michael - we don't want you to go to your "grave as a middle-aged man." We want you to live long enough to see the Red Sox win the World Series.

Despite your chastisement of me for my Billy Joel parody, I must say, I heartily enjoyed this one - pacing was good, the lyrics were great! Keep up the good work!
