Parody Song Title:

"House Of The Rising Moon"

Parody Written by:

Adagio and Guy DiRito

The Lyrics

A moon is always cut into the door of this 'essential' house. :D
There is a house, ain't very clean,
We sit there on our buns.
It's used for doin' the business we deploy,
The outhouse in the sun.

Sometimes the bowels deal failure,
Don't eat too many greens.
The gas will ramble down the can,
Cursed by pork and beans,

Sears and Roebuck catalog, I reads,
It's my look book piece of junk.
And when I'm 'done' cuz I'm countrified,
Use ripped off piece of Funk.

(organ solo)

Oh mothers watch your children,
Tain't no fun for them to run,
On cold nights bahrfoot in misery,
To an outhouse that was in sun.

Well, the seat I sat on it was warm,
Seems on it one kin did reign.
Out back the outhouse it did lean,
It's use it does retain.

There is a house, ain't very clean,
We sit there on our buns.
It's used for doin' the business we deploy,
The outhouse in the sun.

A & G - great pacing - you guys nailed the long note that occurs in the first half of each stanza's second line! Magnifico - very well done!

I guess the Animals didn't think of this. They always go in the woods. I like it.

On further reflection--I have an old book of humorous poems published in 1939 by Earl H. Emmons (cost $1.00) I wonder if anyone here has heard if it. Among the amazing dittys in this tome is an ode to "The Old Backhouse" It is so flowery and touching that it qualifies as great poetry. First verse; When memory keeps me company and moves to smiles or tears A weather-beaten object looms through the mist of years Behind the house and barn it stood, a hundred yards or more And hurrying feet a path made, straight to it's swinging door Its architecture was a type of simple classic art But in the tragedy of life it played a leading part And oft the passing traveler drove slow, and heaved a sigh To see the modest hired girl slip out with glances shy..... Old Earl would have found a home here...

I wonder if that book is still in publication? Sounds like something I would get lost in, since I like books. Does it have a name?

My first thought, Rick, when I read your comment about the book was, he wants to tear it up? =:o

It's called "Rowdy Rhymes" by the Peter Pauper Press (Poor Earl doesn't even get his name on the cover. Maybe in 1939 bawdy poets had to hide behind their publishers)

Thanks, Rick. Another thing I like to do is collect old books.

"Necessary"? You mean they don't have indoor plumbing in Texas yet? It would explain why Bush always acts as though he's got the proverbial "bug up his butt." He may actually have one! Reverse "Alien"!

I was amused when you ran out of the Sears Roebuck catalogue and had to use the Funk & Wagnalls dictionary.

Belated congrats, Adagio & Guy. And it's highly amusing picturing the two of you collaborating on this:
Adagio: *pound pound pound* Guy, you done in there yet?! I gotta go!
Guy: Just a sec - I'm almost done with verse "number two." And hey, I've used up the Sears catalog. Can you hand me those brochures we picked up at the mall?

Spaff, how did you know? I had to dump some memory on my computer so I brought it in there with me.

I guess I caught the tail end of this one. LOL!
