The Lyrics

A song by a group called "America" to stick it to George W. Bush? Why, that's... that's... American!
In the first year of my tenure
the al-Qaeda took lots of life.
There was blood and glass and ash and things.
That's not why I became king.
The first thing I did was to get me a buzz
in the sky o'er the clouds.
The classroom where I sat so long
ain't a thing I can get around.

You see, I'm your President and
of course, I've no blame
about the lost jobs, war or acid rain.
In the desert, where my ranch is contained
yeah, there ain't no press
so I won't feel no pain.

Ba-da, da, da-da-da-da
ba-da-da, da, da.
Ba-da, da, da-da-da-da
ba-da-da, da, da.

After two days I went up to New York
and I yelled through my bullhorn.
After three years, Kerry called me a dork
so I tied him up to gay porn.
And the story that it told of a liberal guy
made him concede on Wednesday morn.

You see, I'm your President and
of course, I've no blame
about the lost jobs, war or acid rain.
In the desert, where my ranch is contained
yeah, there ain't no press
so I won't feel no pain.

Ba-da, da, da-da-da-da
ba-da-da, da, da.
Ba-da, da, da-da-da-da
ba-da-da, da, da.

(instrumental break)

In '09, then, I guess I leave D.C.
to a new man of G.O.P.
There'll be lines for bread and jobs and things
and funerals, soldiers sing.
The motion of the history I set to go
had a perfect disguise up above.
In all the cities, I don't care for their sound
'cause the Dem won't give me no love!

You see, I'm your President and
of course, I've no blame
about the lost jobs, war or acid rain.
In the desert, where my ranch is contained
yeah, there ain't no press
so I won't feel no pain.

Ba-da, da, da-da-da-da
ba-da-da, da, da.
Ba-da, da, da-da-da-da
ba-da-da, da, da.
Ba-da, da, da-da-da-da
ba-da-da, da, da.
Ba-da, da, da-da-da-da
ba-da-da, da, da.
(repeat 'til fade)

Meh, pacing was alright but some of the rhymes were strained. Also, I'm not much of a fan of the Bush-flamer parodies in general. I'm sure some support will be around shortly

I'd have to agree with 2nz on all counts: some minor pacing flaws (though it was generally good), and an overused theme (though the way you told the story in detail was original). By no means am I a Bush supporter myself--but this song is worth 4-3-3 in my opinion.

Anybody who thinks the Bush-bash is an overused method of parody, tough cookies. You wanted four more years of this lying, cheating, warmongering, prejudiced, moronic bastard? You've got four more years of parodies against him! And Bill Clinton is STILL the better man and the better President.
