Although, it was full of corny lines
For years it did endure
Cause Bob Denver was there each week

We're glad the tapes weren't tossed
If not for the talents of it's funny star
The humor would be lost......it's humor would be lost

On Friday, at age seventy,
Bob Denver left the isle
No Gilligan, no skipper, now
No millionaire and his wife
Still a movie star,
The professor and Mary Ann
(But) gone is Gilligan's Smile

We read in the news he passed away
Still we know his show won't die
This parody, a tribute brings
Our sad goodbye

No first mate, and no skipper, now
Both have gone to rest
The skipper's name was Alan Hale
But, this ain't a trivia test

Bob died of complications from
A treatment he received
At a hospital for cancer
And his wife, Dreama grieved

So, as at the beginning, Friends
Let's sympathize a while
With deep respect for Bob Denver
