"Tom Jones' Internet Revenge"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

In 1968, John Barry Mason, better known as Barry Mason (and no relation to John Barry the James Bond theme composer or our own John A. Barry) wrote "Delilah," in which a man sees his wife (girlfriend? the song doesn't make clear) cheat on him, and he loses his mind and he kills her. In 2011, there are... shall we say... other remedies. Mason also wrote "Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes)" and the soccer song "Marching On Together" (a.k.a. "Leeds, Leeds, Leeds").
(instrumental opening)

I saw the light on the night that I passed by her window.
I saw the flickering shadows of love on her blind.
She was my woman.
As she deceived me, I had to respond, but what kind?

My, my, my, Delilah.
Why, why, why, Delilah?
I could see
that jail was no good for me.
But I would get my revenge that all men could see.

I heard her moan as I used camera-phone, I'm recording.
I headed home and I turned on my Pentium 4.
She lay there laughing.
Next day she went on YouTube, and she laughed no more.

Ha, ha, ha, Delilah!
You blew it, Delilah!
So before
you come to break down my door
remember, Delilah, you pushed 'til I could take no more!

(instrumental break)

She stood there begging.
I left the clip on the net, and she laughs no more.

Ha, ha, ha, Delilah!
You blew it, Delilah!
So before
you come to say you deplore
remember, Delilah, that I could have hurt you much more.

Remember, Delilah, that I could have hurt you much more!

Michael - Wow! What a concept! What a job! When Les Reed presented his background arrangement of It's Not Unusual to Tom Jones, Tom didn't like it. He thought there was too much brass! I guess even world famous singers can be wrong. Again, nice job. ;)

very good, and timely. But let's hope Delilah didn't go to Rutgers.

Very timely, Michael, Especially with the comment above about composer John Barry, who I just read passed away today...

There's a serious point here beneath the humor: The disturbing trend of taking private disputes among ordinary, non-famous people, and putting them on the Net for all the world to see. I know that that was your intended subtext, so 555 for a job well done.
