How I loved when Uncle Bilbo,
Would tell me tales of Smaug!
And how the great Ar-ken-stone,
That dragon Smaug would hog!
But the hero that I most loved,
Wore clothing as gray as fog
That wise, wizened wizard
Sure slays a mean Bal-rog!

He stands like a statue
On The Bridge at Khazad-dum!
Fearless facing thunder,
Fire, death, and doom!
Balrog's blade attacks, but,
His wicked sword's repelled
By force-fields of magic
Cast by the wizard's spells!

He's a Big-Balled Wizard,
His courage knows no bounds!
That Big-Balled Wizard's gray stones don't mess around!

We don't know how he does it ---
--- but we know ---
Gandalf's got the goods!

Ain't got no delusions
Don't heed no Saruman spells
Ain't fooled by no illusions
Truth he always tells
Now the Balrog's comin'
With fire, whip, and more!
His staff hits the bridge hard
Thunder and lightning roar!

The Balrog fell
Over the chasm's rim
But one quick whip-lash pulled
Gandalf after him!

Even as he fell and slid toward
That dark precipice
He gave no thought for himself
And all he said was this ---
"Fly you fools!"
--- and then he vanished ---
(our) eyes, with tears, they clog!
That wise, wizened wizard
Sure slays a mean Bal-rog!
