Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Songs #1 and #2 in my mock opera, "Tom D."
Overture

(Frenetic fiddling featuring extensive use the diminished fifth, AKA tritone, or "diablo en musica")

That's Lucifer,
Hell is his home.
His bumborn child
Will slither from him.
Now hear him hissing.
His venom will be spent.
Expect dreck
To issue from him.

Don't Be Buoyed

Nurse:
It's a boy, Mrs. Delay, don't be buoyed.
He'll annoy; he is no bundle of joy.

Doctor:
From underworld he comes.

Even before Amiright, I had been toying with the idea of doing the entire rock opera "Tommy". After all, I can play the whole thing. I may still do the sad story of a young hooker named "Tammy"., but now it will have to wait a few more years until the memory of your masterful effort fades. I should have known that you would not only be the one to do it, but that you'd post the whole damn thing the same day. If you ever want to perform this, you know where to go.

Thanks a lot, Rick. One of these days I may overcome my stage fright.

A fine starting point for this "Mock-Rock-Op" piece...

I've already posted a group of parodies that comprise a partial parody of the album "Tommy". My plan is to eventually, perhaps, do a full-album parody of "Tommy" called "Billy" about Bill Gates and Steve Jobs' iPod. Now I guess I'll wait, too. Impressive body of work here, JB. And beta-blockers are supposedly great for preventing stage-fright. My wife knew of physicians who would prescribe them for each other before public-speaking engagements. They lower your blood pressure and calm you down without making you groggy, sleepy, or stoned. I stopped having stage-fright back in grade school. Now nothing can stop me from getting up on stage in community theatre and making a fool of myself to entertain an audience!
