The Lyrics

I always thought "Happy Together" could be taken as a great parody of itself, just as written ("..How is the weather?" --sheesh). But I decided to give it a go anyway. (Incidentally, this version might contain a dab of personal experience, slightly exaggerated, of course..)
All over me were you
Like glue
And me, I pawed you day and night
Lord what a sight
To think folks didn't hurl or wretch
Looked like they might
So sappy together

To almost knock you up
Not out in time
And you said it belonged to me
To tweak my mind
To think of all the guys you pleased
We stood in line
So sappy together

I'm glad you weren't loving nobody but me
You saved my life
When I woke up, baby, I cried and then-- free!
A brand new life!

Me and you, and you and yours
You played around and split the sheets, revolving doors
Those guys that you would meet in bars, the dropping drawers
So sappy together

I'm glad you weren't loving nobody but me
I got a life
Backed that car out, baby, you lied, I was free!
A brand new life!

Me and you, and you and yours
I hung around and ate some dirt amid your scores
I thought that you were true, my dear, then funny sores..
So sappy together

(Bam-bam-bam...)

Me and you and you and me
We shared some sordid memories, a history
The fantasies and lunacy, the miseries
So sappy together

So sappy together
Some kind of tether
So sappy together
Once clappy together
So sappy together
Sharing worlds nether
Not happy together
-- So sappy together! --

(Bam-bam-bam...)

I also go by the name "The Eggman",But between those two names I have fewer than 10 parodies on this site,I've parodied "Jack and Diane","Barbie Girl","Don't you want me,baby","More than a woman","The Monkees song","Down Under","Kung-Fu Fighting","Don't Speak","Hold me now"under one of those two names. Happy Hunting (I always get the years right !) Also, under Alvin Rhodes parody of "Unchained Melody",called "Unchecked Malady",I left a comment Which was a parody of "You lost that loving feeling. It should still be under new entries, under July 20th.
