Cool to see you back, but I liked him better in the first half. What's new?

Greetings, Highlander. I guess I'm sort of back, but I don't feel an avalanche of parodies coming on like I did in the old days. My wife and I are both well. My brothers and I are looking after our mother who became a widow last year when our father passed away - she's doing surprisingly well for an 85 year old gal. This past summer, just after my 51st birthday, I awoke one day to discover that my desire to act on stage had vanished. Since then, various folks have privately offered me 3 different roles in 3 different shows, and I have declined them all. I think most of my theater friends think I'm just "taking a break". But it's more than that - I feel like I've learned all I needed to learn from stage acting, and now that part of my life is complete. I'm moving on to new things. Apparently one of those new things is the occasional song parody. Next month, I will be recording the voice of Ebenezer Scrooge for a radio adaptation of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol". This radio adaptation will be broadcast in December by WCAP, 980 AM, out of Lowell, Massachusetts. Last year I did the same thing with a different group of actors for WCAP, but this year we've re-cast a number of roles and we'll be recording the show in a sound studio at U. Mass. Lowell instead of in a room at a church as we did last year. Should be a good show. Radio is pretty cool.

Great to see you writing again, Johnny! In case you don't remember who I am, I was in and out of this site sporadically between 2001 and 2008, and jumped into parodying head-first early this year. I have, what the h*ll is it, I think over 50 parodies now. Anyhow, this parody was excellent, and you wrote out a great and heartfelt story there about your acting, the loss of your father (God bless you and yours!) and your Scrooge voiceover. You'll be getting 5s for this!

JOHNNY!! Welcome back! I'm glad to hear some of your news. I'd be glad to hear you on radio. I know you don't feel an 'avalanche' of parodies coming on but can we expect to see some? Pretty please? : ) It's been kind of slow for me too this year. Been through difficult times...make that 2 years. 5's, btw...:D
