The Lyrics

It's amazing what one can find online--in this case, Latin curses! Try figuring 'em out, then click on the link at the bottom (if you dare) for a version with translation. Yes I know the spoken bit is short, but it has to be so. Quisque comoedus est.
Cursing in Latin
Plenus stecoris es
Obesus porucs
Quisque comoedus est

Apudne te vel me?
Morogolus es
Matris Prolapsus
Es obscenus vilis

Bovus stercus
Bovus stercus
O! bovus stercus!

Cepe indicum
Fac ut vivas
Fabriacate diem
Vae spurius

Te futueo...
...et caballum tuum
Pallas meas lambe
Impudens es leno

Bovus stercus
Bovus stercus
O! bovus stercus!
O! bovus stercus!

Cursing in Latin
Mundus excrementi
Canis filius
Raptus regaliter

O di immortales
Stercus accidit
Caesar si viveret...
...Ad remum dareis

Bovus stercus
Bovus stercus
O! bovus stercus!
O! bovus stercus!

Bovus stercus
Bovus stercus
O! bovus stercus!
O! bovus stercus!

Spoken:
O, civile! Si ergo!
Fortibus es en ero.
O, nobile! Deus trux.
Vatis enem?
Causam dux!

Great concept...It's funnier when you read the translation.
Badger - March 16, 2006 - Report this comment
Needs more attantion paid to the quality of the translations. For example, "canis filius" does NOT mean, "son of a b!tch" -- it means "dog son". Not "dog's son". "Canicula" is one word for a dog, and as it's a feminine noun is probably a better translation for "b!tch". Put it into the genitive, though, for "of a b!tch", and you get "flius caniculae". Hey -- if you're gonna mess around with Latin, you're in SERIOUS geek territory, and have to expect geek responses!

Great idea, Mason... in fact, it's so good, I might even give it a try myself (though without the expletives of course)... hold on a sec, though: http://www.amiright.com/parody/60s/themoodyblues17.shtml ;-)

Kudos to Mason for the concept (5s) and to Badger and anyone else who's mastered Latin.

Can't judge but I think this is only the second or third time we've seen a full latin parody, I don't understand them, but who can resist those latinas anyway? :-)
Red Ant - March 16, 2006 - Report this comment
Yeah, I'd like to rate this also, however I'm a bit too old (that's my excuse anyway) to take Latin again (replace the 20.shtml in your URL with 16.shtml if you need clarification). The translation was funny but unfortunately didn't scan.

QC-Thanks! Badger--thanks for the clarification. That's what I get for relying on a web site for a translation. Maybe I shoulda run this through babblefish.com. Phil, Red Ant--Mea Culpa! I broke with my ironclad rule to check previous parodies so I wouldn't try a concept that's already been successfully done. I like your Satin Latin parodies better than mine! ;-) LucidLupin, Peter Andersson--Thanks!

unique and funny concept

MGM's slogan is "Ars gratia artis". Perhaps, AmIRight's should be "Dicacitas gratia dicacitas". Tres quiniae.

For a Latinate Amiright motto, I think of the studio motto used in Mel Brooks' 'Silent Movie': "Ars Est Fecundae". :)
