The Lyrics

He strode easy in the kitchen, he was small and lean
When he'd curse a hot oven, it'd freeze your spleen
He'd make a bad cook look downright wrong
'Cause one look in his eyes and ya knowed he was strong

He was a tiger of a man and I want ya to know
He could steam won-tons 'til they'd freakin' glow
He carried a cookbook and he wore a hat
The folks just called him the Iron Chef Wo Fat

He could roar like a dragon with a thunderous sting
And sometimes in the kitchen, you could hear him sing ---

"I got to wok, that lo mein slowly...
I got to wok it by myself ---
For no-body else, can wok it for me...
I got to wok it by myself..."

If ever I could've thought this chef in white
Was soft and not a fellow who could fight
I gave that notion up the day
A food critic came in with a whole lot to say

Yeah, he kicked open Fat's restaurant door
And he cursed every dinner as a tasteless snore
Insulting Wo Fat all over the place,
He realized too late --- he'd made Fat lose face...

Fat kicked that critic with a kick of Kung Fu
Grabbed his head, started dunkin' in someone's Pu-Pu
Then burned his buttocks with a Sterno-flame
'Cause that critic cursed Fat's ancestors by name

Fat stood by his wok, a fork in his hand,
Then he forked that food critic straight in the gland
And yanked out them boys with a flick of his wrist
In Wo Fat's wok, both of them boys hissed, and he said ---

"I fought to wok, your subgum snow-peas...
I fought to wok 'em by myself ---
For no one insults, ancestral wok-dudes...
Your bamboo-stalk's all by itself..."

It's been many years since that famous day
Though Wo Fat's long gone, his myth will stay
I can still smell his won-tons steam
And I can still hear that food critic's scream

I learned from Fat, a man with a fighting spirit
That critic's scream, I'll always hear it,
In my memory, 'cause I want ya to understand ---
The Iron Chef Wo Fat was one bold man!

Wo Fat, he wokked,
That critic's won-tons...
Wo Fat, he wokked them by himself ---
For hon-or he felt, they must be torn loose...
And then he wokked them by himself...
