The Lyrics

Hey Kerry man,
Hey Kerry man,

Howie played the fool like Simon Simple,
All of the monitors popped like a percolator,
He's a good ol' boy with mental defects,
Comic distraction from what they're viewing.

Hey Kerry man,
It's your game now,
Your leadin' all the way.
Hey Kerry man,
It's your game now,
Your leadin' all the way.

Now that you're central to your party,
Some independents, overbearing.
You kept your cool with others raging,
Can it be Dean that you are fearing?

Hey Kerry man,
It's your game now,
Your leadin' all the way.
Hey Kerry man,
It's your game now,
Your leadin' all the way.

You're no, no Harry Truman you see,
No, Harry Truman to me,
No, no Harry Truman you see,
No, Harry Truman to me.

Hey Kerry man,
It's your game now,
Your leadin' all the way.
Hey Kerry man,
It's your game now,
Your leadin' all the way.

People never learn,
The worm is turning,
You by design are a fickle creature,
So now you're gettin' over on your party,
Better stop flipping or you'll be paying.

Hey Kerry man,
It's your game now,
Your leadin' all the way.
Hey Kerry man,
It's your game now,
Your leadin' all the way.

Kerry man,
Kerry man,
Kerry man,
Kerry man,
Kerry man.

Really good job. But, 'You kept your cool with others raging'
What about that charity fiasco?

Guy - Another excellent job, I know the original quite well. (I loved the Hollies when Graham Nash was still with them - the high harmonies could best be described as "shimmering".) Pacing was absolutely fabulous. On Dean: personally I like the guy although it looks like he might not be passive enough to suit all the pundits and party-hack types who are afraid of confronting President "what's-his-name" and seeming "angry". Hell, if you totally disagree with current policy and direction, don't believe in his honesty, integrity, truthfulness or fairness and think the Current "Casa Blanca" inhabitant incredibly divisive how could you NOT be angry??? But Kerry would be a good choice, too, I think. Hmmm....Good thing it's not the evening yet, eh, Guy?

Paul - For a democrat, Kerry ain't half bad, but he is so boring he is hard to parody. I like the fact about him that he did serve in the military and our congress is sorely lacking of members who even understand, let alone have actually served in the military. He has two basic flaws as I see him. One is easy to fix, the other, hmmm. He needs to distance himself from Ted Kennedy. That appears to be the easy one. The other is how he flip flops on issues. Oh, yeah, there is a third... Taxes, but we won't go there.

Thanks Paul, Pat and Jack for votes and comments.

I don't know, Guy, it's tough for anyone on Earth to distance themselves from Ted Kennedy's gravitational field. 5's, great parody!

RATSRATSRATS!!! I was planning on doing a Kerry parody based on this one! But (to paraphrase John Cleese in a memorable "Cheers" guest appearance) I can forget that now, it's been done to perfection!
