This original song is from The Hollies back when Graham Nash was still in the group. I always preferred that version of the band, although they did do some good stuff after he left, too.

Yes, I do know this lesser know Hollies song, and you did a great job with it. This was one that Graham Nash, rather than Alan Clarke, sang lead on. And I agree with you about the Hollies lineup - they floundered for a bit right after Graham left, but got back on course in the early '70s. I still prefer their 1965-67 material, though, especially "Carrie Ann" and "Look Through Any Window".

Mari D - The SONG isn't used in a commercial. FANNIE MAE (the housing loan program) uses really awful commercials telling you how wonderful they are. The original song comes from, oh...probably around your 1st year of High School (yes, that long ago, hee-hee). "Dear Eloise" was originally released as a single and then later on the 1967 album released in the U.S. as "Dear Eloise/King Midas In Reverse". It's really a pretty good song...The first verse and the repeat of it at the end are at a totally different pace from the middle sections. Well, that's probably more than you wanted to know, but hey, there's no charge....

Jan, No - I believe you are absolutely correct. I don't know about you but I have had a lot of trouble connecting to the site server for about the last week. I'm haven't been sure if it was MY Internet Access provider, my new PC or this site or a combination. Even when I can connect it takes quite a while to change from one screen to another. In fact it just took me about 5 minutes to get in here, I wasn't sure it I was going to make it. If that's happening to a lot of folks it would probably discourage them from staying on the site too long. There may also be school stuff - like finals, or mid-terms or something, although it's been so long since I was in school I really couldn't say for sure. Anyway, I figure I'll just keep plugging along. When I'm getting nowhere I'll do something else for a while and try later. Anyway, thanks for the vote & comment.
