The Lyrics

Number 1,000. It took me 3 years, 7 months and 18 days, or one song every 31 hours and 49 minutes. The original song is one of my all-time favorites. I decided to dedicate it to someone special.
You can laugh
at the songs of the guy whose puns reach so high
here on Amiright.
You can smile
elfin smile for the man who'll shake his can
beneath the pale moonlight.
But don't forget who's taking a chance
on your generosity.
Yes, Arwen
I saved the last song for thee.

Mmmm...
Oh, I know
(Oh, I know)
that your smile's fine, like sparkling wine
(Yes, I know)
and we have our fun.
(Oh, I know)
Laugh and sing
(Yes, I know)
but deep in my heart, I know I would be smart
(Oh, I know)
to say that you're the one.
(Yes, I know)
So don't forget who's writing a song
about your luminosity.
Yes, Arwen
I saved the last song for thee.

Mmmm!
Baby, don't you know I love you so?
Can't you read it in my song?
So don't ever, ever stop the flow
of the love that could not be wrong.

You can laugh
(You can laugh)
go and carry on 'til your breath is gone
(You can laugh)
and it's time to go.
(You can laugh)
If they ask
(You can laugh)
if I still have jones for the Zeta bones
(You can laugh)
I will tell them no.
(You can laugh)
'Cause don't forget who's writing a song
about your marvelosity.
Yes, Arwen
I saved the last song for thee.

(instrumental break)

Yes, don't forget who's writing a song
about your marvelosity.
Yes, Arwen
I saved the last song for thee.
Mmmm...
I saved the last song for thee.
Mmmm...
I saved the last song for thee.

Can I vote more than once? I want to give this 30 555s RIGHT NOW!!!

A Few Things:

1. Regardless of the song...the WRITER is one of my all-time favorites. Seriously, Michael...you're FABulous beyond compare. Yes, I know that you love me so...=) Right back at you!

2. And actually...the OS is one of MY all-time favorite songs, too. I've always loved The Drifters' original cut...(which I'm sure you're partial to, Mr. Purist)...but I have to admit that when Michael Buble sings it, I have to hit repeat a couple of times on my CD player, too. I have wanted to do it for a while...but haven't come up with anything better than "Save the Plaid Pants For Me." I couldn't defile it so...

3. The Subject Matter is one of my favorite all time subject matters, too! ; ) The only person who writes more songs about me than you...is me. =)

4. Seriously, though...you make me giddy every time you do something like this, Michael...and I'm more than tickled/honored/delighted to be included in such a milestone for you. 1,000 parodies?? That's unbelieveable...especially since only half of them are about your favorite elf...; )

5. It's just wonderful. Thank you thank you thank you! I love Love LOVE it...and I can't even tell you how much. One of these days I'll have to jet out to New Jersey to show my appreciation...; ) Mmmmwah!

p.s. extra points, if possible, for the word "marvelosity," and "Zeta bones" TOTALLY made me LOL!

Congrats, making the top submitters club almost once per month is quite an accomplishment.

Just to set the record straight, of the 1,000 parodies, only 155 are "George W. Bashes," while 49 others are swipes at other right-of-center political figures. As for "my girls," there are now 11 songs for Arwen, 9 for Catherine Zeta-Jones, one where they "fight over me"; 2 each for Jennifer Lopez (in 1 day), Gwen Stefani and Angelina Jolie; 1 each for (in chronological order) Winona Ryder, Ashley Scott, Terry Farrell and Nicole DeBoer (collectively), Jessica Alba, the Desperate Housewives (Eva Longoria, Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Nicollette Sheridan and Marcia Cross), and Halle Berry. I want to thank all those who made a thousand parodies possible... especially the ones I like, which means some of you, my fellow Amirighters. Arwen, in particular.
