The Lyrics

This parody is an extreme example of why you should plan for parenthood. But you knew that, and I commend you.
Gimmie a jacket for on the tarmac
It ain't that cold to work for Amtrak
Snowy days have come, I've got freezin' bones
Hope my baby will knit me a sweater

I don't care how much cotton she's gotta spin
Got to save bucks for our baby
Snowy day have come, I'm a-callin' home
Please my lady knit me a sweater

Will, she knit me a sweater?,
Said she couldn't sleep and see me not warm
Listen, mister, can't you see I've got to save up
For our baby just born--anyway...

Gimmie a jacket for on the tarmac
It ain't that cold to work for Amtrak
Snowy days have come, I've got freezin' bones
Hope my Lady will knit me a sweater

Very good parody, Lionel. Your introductory comment might be too personal to share, but it's on the internet and has aroused our curiosity, so please elaborate.

John Jenkins, I realize a mind can be a terrible thing to taste but some of my thinking is served in this parody. If you gag on what I have to say I understand. But the father character in this figure is trying to save money just for a simple sweater. This means he's really hard up for cash. Anybody who doesnt have a couple of dollars to spend for a thrift store sweater has failed to plan (failing to plan is planning to fail). It's my personal belief that a couple should save up sufficient funds before having a baby. Why should he make his wife spend several hours knitting a sweater when he could buy one cheap at a thrift store. To me this defy's common sense. It lacks proactive thinking. That's what I'm talking about. And as far as saying something to personal I really don't think I stepped over a line. Stories usually have moral to them or lessons to them and my comment tried clue in readers. But that's the way I see it. The moral of this story is: If your raising a child, it's best to squirl some dough away for emergencies. Like having to work in freezing weather. That's all folks. Best Regards, Lionel Mertens
