Parody Song Title:

"(The Lies Came Out In) Massachusetts"

Parody Written by:

Michael Pacholek

The Lyrics

The original song came out in 1967, as the Boston Red Sox were saving their franchise with the "Impossible Dream" season. Now, what they thought was an impossible nightmare has come true: It's not just Manny Ramirez, but David Ortiz used steroids! Big Papi cheated! The 2004 and 2007 World Series wins are hereby... null and void! You can stop your gloating now, because... 1918*!
(instrumental opening)

Feel they're going mad in Massachusetts.
Something's telling me their cover's blown.
And the lies all came in Massachusetts.
The Red Sox had some cheaters of their own.

Took some shots at Bonds in San Francisco.
Said in New York, A-Rod was untrue.
And the lies all came out in Massachusetts.
The Curse still lives, the choke is still on you!

Talk about the life in Massachusetts.
Speak about the people I have seen.
And the lies all came out in Massachusetts!
And a World Champion
is something
you
ain't
been!

Whoa, Papi cheated, Massachusetts.
Whoa, Papi cheated, Massachusetts.
Whoa, Papi cheated, Massachusetts.
Whoa, Papi cheated, Massachusetts.
(repeat 'til fade)

Good stuff, but how can you take away the Red Sox world series victories when most other teams were probably cheating similarly? Can you say that the Yankee teams that won 4 world series between 1996 and 2000 were clean?

And while it is appropriate to chastise the 3 players that tested positively, their tests were supposed to have been confidential, and the person who leaked their names should be chastised even more severly.
