Tim, I don't like this parody subject matter, but I would never think of giving you "ones" for it. I think the fastest way to get them is to take the opposite point of view from what you have here. And I'm going to use that idea and your inspiration to address this subject tomorrow and we'll see who gets slammed faster.

Count my How Funny also as Profundity. Why do Celine Dion songs inspire us to love one another more than Martin Luther's, which generally are pretty painful? And why does everything pale before the libretto of Messiah? Mundane libretto expresses a personal love from the human soul of the writer and libretto from sacred writings expresses a more universal love. So if I were your wife and you sang me this one night in bed, it would be the cat's pyjamas, because it is an expression of personal love to Jesus in a very intimate way.That kind of love I do not think transfers publicly and successfully on a Beatles tune unless you are too young to know that the original lyrics were rather naughty.

Considering the Good Lord's track record for taking something bad and turning it to good I think it's a great pick of OS to do the same in this parody. I see nothing wrong with it and it transfers beautifully in true parodic style.

I could see it being used in a evangelistic kind of program. Not my cup of tea, but I hear the sentiment and it's sincere. Nice songwriting.
