Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"Obloquy Dubya"

Parody Written by:

Michael Pacholek

The Lyrics

ob·lo·quy (OBB-luh-kwee) n. pl. ob·lo·quies: 1. Abusively detractive language or utterance; calumny: “I have had enough obloquy for one lifetime” (Anthony Eden, whoever the hell HE was). 2. The condition of disgrace suffered as a result of abuse or vilification; ill repute.
Georgie's only trusting in the marketplace.
Social Security would be banned.
Georgie went to Yale, did fraternity haze
and that's just two reasons he should have been canned.

Obloquy, Dubya, he's a bum, ya!
Hell of a fanatic bum!
Obloquy, Dubya, he's a bum, ya!
Hell of a fanatic bum!

Dubya sent our troops to an Iraqi war
'cause of weapons of Saddam Hussein.
Didn't find 'em in '03 or in '04
and he had to find a new excuse to feign.

Obloquy, Dubya, he's a bum, ya!
Hell of a fanatic bum!
Obloquy, Dubya, he's a bum, ya!
Hell of a fanatic bum!

In a couple of years, we will lose our home-sweet-homes
in a rubble of our economy, 'cause
of Georgie's trickle-down jones!

Oy-yi-yi-yi...

Happy ever after on the Crawford ranch.
Georgie lets his wifey lend a hand.
Jenna downs her drinks and gets all poopy-faced
and in the evening, Barbara Junior grinds her man.

Yes!
Obloquy, Dubya, he's a bum, ya!
Hell of a fanatic bum!
Obloquy, Dubya, he's a bum, ya!
Hell of a fanatic bum!

In another four years, we can save our neck and tush!
With a new candidate who will speak the truth
unlike that George Dubya Bush!

Oy-yi-yi-yi!
Happy ever after in United States
smart man once again will lead the land.
Georgie will retire to his desert place
while his replacement everyone will give a hand.

Yes!
Obloquy, Dubya, he's a bum, ya!
Hell of a fanatic bum!
Obloquy, Dubya, he's a bum, ya!
Hell of a fanatic bum!

Didn't want that bum!
Obloquy, Dubya!

No, thank you!

Yes, I know, Sir Anthony Eden (1897-1977) was Foreign Secretary from 1935 to '38, again from '40 to '45, and again from '51 to '55, when he succeeded Winston Churchill and became Prime Minister for two years, until his bungling of the Suez Crisis led to his retirement as the Earl of Avon. He wasn't as bad a national leader as Bush, though if he, as Foreign Secret'ry, hadn't been a major force behind the 1953 Iran coup (along with the American CIA), we'd have a very different Middle East today, so the world is still paying for his mistakes. No wonder the Racoon Lodge wouldn't accept him as a member (as Brother Ed Norton stated on one "Honeymooners" episode).

Have to admit that my loudest guffaw was for "(Anthony Eden, whoever the hell HE was)", but enjoyed the parody, too.

With his propensity for awesomely bad puns, this is a song Guy DiRito would have written if he'd been a liberal. And I just thought of something: When the second chorus comes, and Paul goofs and says, "Molly lets the children lend a hand, Desmond stays at home and does his pretty face"... Was Desmond Jones related to Merry? Or Pippin?
