Song Parodies -> "Raspberry Rings Forever"

Original Song Title:

"Strawberry Fields Forever"

Original Performer:

The Beatles

Parody Song Title:

"Raspberry Rings Forever"

Parody Written by:

Michael Pacholek

The Lyrics

"Raspberry": Stick out your tongue and blow. No doubt, some of you will insert a Clinton joke here. You would then deserve a raspberry. This is, of course, in answer to Alvin Rhodes' "Pretty Ring" and everyone else who salutes the Rings Quagmire. Yes, my little pointy-eared pretty, even YOU. The punchline is that the Beatles wanted to do a LOTR movie: John Lennon as Gollum ("Yer a swine fer takin' me precioussss"), Paul McCartney as Frodo, George Harrison as Gandalf (he certainly looked wizardly on the cover of "All Things Must Pass") and Ringo Starr as Samwise. But JRRT himself put the kibosh on it: http://www.tolkienonline.com/docs/6352.html
Let me break it down
'cause I'm giving you
Raspberry, "Rings"
gives me nothing
just nothing to be glad about.
Raspberry "Rings" forever!

Living is dreary with films' fans
misunderstanding all they say.
It's getting hard to get a life
but it all works out.
Soon their attention, it will stray.

Let me break it down
'cause I'm giving you
Raspberry, "Rings"
gives me nothing
just nothing to be glad about.
Raspberry "Rings" forever!

No one in my family tree
to any of those films did go.
That is, they won't, you know, tune out
but it's all right.
That is, to spend ten bucks was bad.

Let me break it down
'cause I'm giving you
Raspberry, "Rings"
gives me nothing
just nothing to be glad about.
Raspberry "Rings" forever!

Always, no, sometimes think they stink
but, you know, they always make me scream.
I think, I know, I mean, oh, yes,
but it's all wrong.
I don't care if you disagree.

Let me break it down
'cause I'm giving you
Raspberry, "Rings"
gives me nothing
just nothing to be glad about.
Raspberry "Rings" forever!

(instrumental fadeout)

Cranberry delight... ah...
Or Wood you misinterpret that as "I buried Elijah"?

I may not agree with your viewpoint, Mike...but this was a well written parody that dared to swim against the fan-boy current. 544

Darling...I have to say that you're seemingly a harder case in conversion than I thought you would be...but you'll ALWAYS be forgiven if you continue to call me your "little pointy-eared pretty," which made me grin...=)
