The Lyrics

Road Trip!
We shook old fat cops
Can't you drive a-little slower
Look out bang, bang pothole
Like a rollin' coaster
He just don't do limit speeds
Flyin' past a road sign that I can't hardly read

He watch no gas line
We got engine trouble
While we moonin' strangers
I wish car was solar
He said "That last stop, changed my life
I remembered snacks but then I forgot my wife"

We will never stop now. Cross Country

It's his construction
Cause his last car crumbled
ain't no moto-cycle
It's a map attacker
He got seats down and flashy keys
Doesn't have a windshield so there's always a breeze

We will never stop now. Cross Country

He tire roaster
He one E-Z passer
Gonna cross the border
Be like Lou and Thelma
People beep and curse and scream at me
I'm just singing shotgun, he's the one drivin' see

We will never stop now. Cross Country
Here's to you, Smokey and the Beatles.

WHS. And I liked the "Smokey and the Beatles" tagline after, too :-)

Thanks guys. I tried to make use of the original line structure as much as possible and it's awesome to get feedback on that. I gotta go do the rounds. I promised Adagio a review yesterday that I still need to do.

Very carefully matched rhyming adds to a reader's fun on this. Best joke was about forgetting the wife--props on the whole song. d;:^)

2nz - Nice job here, especially writing something that makes sense and still fits the original song structure (since that one really didn't make complete sense to begin with except maybe in an overview of the whole piece). I also really like that you try to keep up with the work of as many Authors as possible and comment as much as possible, too. It's a lot of work, isn't it? But it's also fun and good to "hear" the smiles when you give someone a lift for a job well done that you got enjoyment out of. Well, golly-jeez, listen to me...Jiminy freaking Cricket here saying freaking "over & out" I guess...trouble is I really mean that stuff...don't worry, I'll get help soon...

As I said before, your an honest man, Charlie Brown. Thanks for the kind words. Sometimes it seems like a lot of work, Hey, see if you can round up some people and go check out 'Scenes from a Chalupan Restaurant', posted today. Trust me, you'll understand why I'm being shameless about plugging it.
