The Lyrics

Folks, all is fair in love and politics. This is a little story about how, when First Lady Laura Bush, then Welch, was seventeen, she ran a stop sign and killed her supposed boyfriend, who was the local football star. Much of what really took place is a mystery, with police records oddly smudged etc...you know, the typical stuff in ANY Bush story. Take this as you find it.
Laura Welch, at age seventeen, she
A teen, not yet First Lady,
She was just a kid but with problems obscene.
She had a friend, who, probably, screamed..

Laura Welch, don't drive that car,
You've just been out to a bar!
Hey, is that the football star?
Slow down, whate'er you do!!

The corvair got crushed and so did the hood.
The driver, really, was understood.
Decapitated was some people's line.
What REALLY happened? MAYBE, in time.

Laura Welch, don't drive that car,
You've just been out to a bar!
Hey, is that the football star?
Slow down, whate'er you do!!

Beep Beep Beep Beep OUCH!!

Laura Welch, don't drive that car,
You've just been out to a bar!
Hey, is that the football star?
Slow down, whate'er you do!!

Did Laura's sad crime make her say one day,
"Oh George, I want you to put that liquor away"?
Whatever did it, it was a good start,
Sad that THAT one death broke so many a heart!

Laura Welch, don't drive that car,
You've just been out to a bar!
Hey, is that the football star?
Slow down,whate'er you do!!

Beep Beep Beep Beep Ouch!!
Beep Beep Beep Beep Ouch!!
Beep Beep Beep Beep Ouch!!
Beep Beep Beep Beep Ouch!!

Hey, Jude (sorry, couldn't resist), as much as I would love to, you can't blame this story on the Bushes, since Laura wasn't one yet. But I did once imagine a dinner with Georgie, Laura, Dick Cheney (also a DUI vet) and Charlton Heston (who went into alcohol rehab a few years back). Laura: "Chuck, gimme the keys!" Heston: "The only way you're gonna get these keys is to pry 'em from my cold, dead hands!" Dick: "If you don't gimme the keys, you're gonna have cold, dead hands!" Georgie: "Where's the oil slick on this car?"

Michael P!! You are simply hysterical!!!! Yeah, I know what you mean. It was questionable whether I was gonna post this one or not. It's just that the chorus or refrain or whatever you want to call the repeated part..."Laura Welch don't drive that car" part..has been sticking in my head for so long, even before I started coming to this room..that I just had to let it out. I would LOVE to know how many people have looked at this and not posted a comment or points! Thanks again for the joke...I needed a laugh

I looked three times before I voted. I always check out Beatles, and now you. But this is a toughy to scan and you know it's not your funniest.
