The Lyrics

Denny Laine he was the drummer for McCartney's band
he always pounded on the skins he never lacked
and he was fired when he took some crack
in his renal veins..
very strange

on the album there is a picture but it's very far
I'm thinking Denny was run over by a train
cause it looks like he's in such pain
there's that renal vein..
very strange

Denny Laine, he played the drums for beatle guys
there beneath the lights he was disguised
he sat, and took his crack

for denny laine the final straw was at a barbeque
he loaded burgers and a steak , said he was "piqued"
and veggie linda had a proper freak,
never played again..
very strange

Denny Laine, he played the drums for beatle guys
there beneath the lights he was disguised
he sat, and took his crack

behind the amplifiers he would smoke a rock or two
and linda watched him as she ate a dineau root
and said to paul to give him the quick boot
when his burgers came,
very strange

Denny Laine, he played the drums for beatle guys
there beneath the lights he was disguised
he sat, and took his crack

Denny was the guitarist/singer for Wings. Also once a member of the Moody blues. Do a little research and use capitals.

FYI: 1) The Ruttles came up with the title "Denny Laine" as a parody idea for Penny Lane back in 1978. 2) Joe English was the drummer in Wings, not Denny Laine. 3) You may be thinking of Wings' guitarist Jimmie McCulloch, who died of a drug overdose. Let's see you rhyme THAT with "Penny Lane". 4) Denny Laine, last time I checked (2002), was still very much with us. Before you go around ruining people's reputations, you might want to at least spend 5 minutes researching your facts. You're lucky to get "Ones". You sure didn't earn them.

Haven't you got anything better to do? Denny happened to write one of the biggest selling singles of all time. and had it all... but was never into drugs. Parodies are supposed to be funny. get a life mate.

Now...what??? Denny Laine is a guitarist. There's very little in this parody that has anything at all to do with Denny Laine. Denny Seiwell was Wings' drummer briefly...did those names confuse you? If so, that was a rather inexcusable mistake.

Pathetic drivel. Absolutely no basis in fact, so not much of a parody either. As already mentioned, Denny Laine was not Wings' drummer, also he was never sacked, also he was not a drug user. Was crack even about in the early 70's?? As my English teacher always used to say, write about something you know!

Wierd Al could do much better than this. Denny Seiwell, not Denny Laine, was the drummer in Wings original lineup. In fact, Laine played everything but drums in the band - rhythm guitar, lead guitar, bass guitar, piano, keyboards, harmonica. Wrote many songs the band recorded, sang many songs on Wings albums, in fact was the only person other than the McCartney's to stay in the band the entire 10 years. I wouldn't be surprised if Denny relaxed occasionally with Macca's drug of choice in those days, but he has never, ever been a crackhead.

I am appaled that that is what you think of me as! I am better than a drummer! I also didn't eat hamburgers in front of Paul or the late lady Linda may her beautiful body rest in peace until I join her and she rests her purdy bod in my arms. Sorry Paul if that offended you but I've always loved the lovely Linda. Oh, BTW maybe you should write a song about my love for Linda next. Sincerely, Denny Laine
