The Lyrics

Still yet more Beatles Did'em all.
What would you think if I bored you to tears?
Would you fall fast asleep in that chair?
Loan me a beer and I'll tell you a tale
And I'll try not to ramble or swear
Oh, I got ripped with a little hell from my friends
I got gypped with a little hell from my friends
Wrote a script with a little hell from my friends

What did I do when I ran out of pot?
(You sent roadies out to buy some more)
How did I feel when my buddies got caught?
(There were many others at the door)
Oh, I got ripped.....

(Did you need anybody?)
I was the boss of the scene
(Could it be anybody?)
As long as she was over thirteen

(Did you believe that you'd run out of coke?)
No, I thought the gravy train would never end
(Were you surprised when your bank account broke?)
I couldn't stop the primal urge to spend
Oh, I got ripped....

(Did you blame anybody?)
I blamed anybody I could
(Was it greed and the money?)
The contracts I misunderstood

Oh, I got gypped with a little hell from my "friends"
Double-dipped with a little hell from my "friends"
Finger-flipped with a little hell from my friends

You probably won't read this, but good job again, Rick. I went to college too.

Rick, good job. 2nz: Thanks for making YOUR comment. This one was posted "pre-Paul" so I probably wouldn't have seen it but for your remark. OH! P.S. "2" - Curious over here: What does college have to do with anything? I went for a very short while but I honestly don't remember reading anything while I was there. (Could that have had something to do with why I didn't stick around?) However, I did learn to read at some point PRIOR to that. There are specific occupations where college is essential to actually being able to do the job, but for a lot of stuff it's just a hoop you have to show you've jumped through. Hmmm...is it possible I'm a little touchy on this subject? Yeah, I'm the only one in this department w/out said 'skin, but everyone's butt is pretty much going out the door at the same speed as mine.

I only have 2 years of college under my belt, I got an A. A. (Make your own joke here.) Then I had to work for a living. I noticed that the year of my highest grade point average was the one where I discovered pot. But fortunately, it didn't affect my razor sharp wit or my ability to concen, consch, codvjr, wha? whaere was I? zzzzzzzzzzzzz

I work at a university and, although there are a lot of intelligent and motivated students there, it boggles the mind that certain ones (what could they be smoking?) were even able to get in! Paul, you'll appreciate this one. When I graduated from college and had no clue about what to do next (this brings up the smoking question again), having a degree helped me to get a job: cashier in a Hallmark shop! That's what the manager said -- really!

Great job! And Mari, I know what you mean, I am in graduate school and some of my colleagues could still lose a game of wits to any moron off the street. Makes you wonder...

Rick D - which one didn't affect your razor wit, the high grade-point average or the pot? Mari D - I once was Office Manager of a Termite Company and the boss and his main inspectors were all college grads (jocks - basketball). One of my most important functions was to make sure their reports looked like it was written by someone who both spoke and understood English. I'm not knocking college, but it's not an automatic pass to anything. If you know what you are doing there it's probably a very good thing. If you are there to "find yourself" there's a good chance that when you do your lips will be attached to a hash pipe or a beer or something. OH MAN! It can't be 2:10 pm! I did it again~! Supposed to be at my Dad's at 4:00! Lets see, 25 minutes to home from here, quick shower. 30 more minutes to make it to his place in the Valley (if no traffic problems). I'm SCREWED! Gotta run. Thanks to all. Leah and many others, promise to look at your postings on Monday.
