Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

What would you think if I dived really deep
And I came up too fast to survive
Out of the water I'd suddenly leap
Would it shock you to find me alive

No, I get by with a little kelp for the bends
Mmm, I get high on a little kelp for the bends
Yes, I'm gonna fry up a little kelp for the bends

What do I do with a shortage of kelp
(Does it worry you when there is none)
How do I breathe when it's not there to help
(Do you suffocate when diving's done)

No, I get by with a little kelp for the bends
Mmm, I get dry with a little kelp for the bends
Yes, I'm gonna spy on a little kelp for the bends

(Do you breathe underwater?)
I just breathe better, I'm told
(Can you freeze underwater?)
If it's incredibly cold

(Would you refuse to eat kelp at first sight?)
No, I'm certain any kelp would be just fine
(How do you choose the right wine, red or white?)
I prefer a Chateau '59

Oh, I get by with a little kelp for the bends
Mmm, I get spry with a little kelp for the bends
Yes, I'm gonna fly with a little kelp for the bends

(Do you breathe any better?)
I breathe much better, you bet
(Is beneath any wetter?)
Beneath the water is wet

Oh, I get by with a little kelp for the bends
Mmm, I get high on a little kelp for the bends
Oh, I'm gonna fry up a little kelp for the bends
Yes, I get by with a little kelp for the bends
With a little kelp for the beeennnds

Having parodied TOS once, I appreciate how one must stretch (and bend) as you did to vary word subs for "by" beyond those that The Beatles sang. I held my breath, and by the end, I was coming up for air. Kelp's for supper!
