I haven't been on AmIRight or much else on the Internet due to a combination of illness, family stuff, other things in real life, one weekend road trip in July and another coming up on the 26th, so please don't think something happened to me.
I am a Ping-Pong fiend, watch on 2*, play it too
'Dicted to the game, shouldn't play it, but I do
Whack a ball back and forth, must be my trillion and fourth
I hope I beat my pal

First we toss that coin, lands on heads, I start to serve
He returns the ball, I serve it back, it's not “good”, oh the nerve!
My opponent gets one, but here I don't have none
And yet I feel okay
When I win, I feel so good inside
When I lose, feeling dead as the sea, Dead Sea, yeah
I play another round, should be working, but I'm not
I lost another game, wanna sleep deep, with the fish
Espn-2, I watch the games on the tube
Makes me feel all right

Hoooooh-AHH

When I don't play, I moan, can't play Ping Pong alone
I do not feel OK
I got home, I got invited to state
And I won, headed to the nationals, practice all day and all night, yeah!

I made the nationals, and I've been playin' all day long
And though my arm's cramped bad, I see nothin' in it wrong
But now I just lost the game, and my motel burned down
Stuck out here in St. Lou
Gonna fly JetBlue
Gonna go on home...

Well done as the first parody to kick off our new Ages of Amiright competition!

Andria, I waited until someone else commented and rated you b/c you hurt my feelings on my SJH song about the history of watermelon and that slang word done in the style of tongue planted firmly in cheek. But I wanted you to know a few things before you judge me. I was the first to rate you 555 here and I've always admired your material. But the reason that I use so much Third Reich material is that I specialize in in and have 10,000 pages on it online. I have been consulted by tv channels and specific programs as well as the producers of the "Iron Sky" movie for that knowledge and I write what I know; even so, the total amount of songs parodies that deal with Third Reich _anything_ out of 533 parodies in under 5 months is NOT a majority at all. I thought that you should know the facts before judging me. Maybe you could care less about WW2, secret weapons, technology, current events, etc... but I do and I have my niche of fans here that also like what I write. My pacing can be off or right on, it doesn't matter to me as an amatuer b/c it is the info content that counts to me. I may be an amatuer, but there is no counterpart to me when it comes to topics of the obscure nature and war nature here. I am known all over the net for both my knowledge and Third Reich materials and I would appreciate it if you took into account how others feel before making broad generalizations about me "pushing the envelope"!!! What envelope as a parodist??? I am 47 yrs old and love parodies of anything, and I still read Mad Magazine since '73!!! My purpose is to learn, write, entertain, and educate all at the same time. I also am disabled and dying and this is my only outler most of the time, so I am productive enough to do in months what it has taken years for the vets to do. I am trying to share as much info as possible before I go. Now, you can 1-bomb me if you want ir leave bad comments on my parodies but I bear no hostility. I haven't known you long enough to miss you, but I always rated you highly and will continue. Have a nice day, Rob :-D

Rob, I had no idea that you were so knowledgeable about these things and that you were dying. But I do have strong opinions regarding racial relations, and I think I went off on you unfairly about your watermelon parody. I feel bad about hurting your feelings... hope you can accept my apology.

Matthias: Thank you, I will get it posted on the messageboard tonight...

NP Andria... but after I wrote you, someone did indeed 1-bomb all of my SJH songs plus my Friday songs :( I apologize for my continuous typos too as my diabetic eyesight is getting worse. I try really hard to provide diversified subjects and some like them while others object to my more morbid humorous parodies. But the interracial couple that gave me the idea do not object and my point was to educate about the watermelon and its African origin. The SJH parody with the jive talk was purely tongue in cheek and not meant to be taken seriously. Many people do not even take SJH seriously!!! And many of the German things are unknown or little known. Just a few weeks ago the Brits released the news on the Estrogen plot to feminize Hitler!!! I had to do that one. Tomorrows entries so far on on mopeds from the '80s and about Gadhafi. No one really knows what I will write about on any given day- neither do I until I sit down and try to write. It is hard b/c I can't see very well, am on O2, and on heavy meds. I have been advised to stop all Internet activity to rest while I am in remission and try to get out more often. But I am just too weak most days. I think you can understand why the rush to make it to 600 parodies and then I will quit at position #11.

Rob, it wasn't me that 1-bombed you, and I feel bad about your poor health and about going off on a dying man for no real reason. Sorry I forgot to vote on the watermelon song, I'll do so right now...

Security code here is LCC. LittleCupCakes, where art thou?

Rob, are you planning to stop at #11 on the authors list? Is this a goal you set for yourself? Are you the author of those Wikipedia articles on 3rd Reich aircraft and weapons?
Rob Arndt - August 25, 2011 - Report this comment
Yes, I am too sick to continue on after reaching Number 11- around 600 parodies. I have written around 100+ Wiki articles on everything but have 10,000 pages on Third Reich material all over the Internet, which includes my 9 books on Third Reich material. I also have 10s of thousands of posted aircraft from my NG and various forums. I'm worn out now and my health is failing...

Can't wait for the sequel, "Ping Pong vs. Godzilla."

Thanks, Porfle. I'll have to find a song to use first...

Reminds me of my favorite Ping Pong character Forrest Gump. And that's all I have to say about that. Well done on an unusual but fun sport.

(Ages Round 1 '11) Glad to see you back, Andria ,and I'm also glad you're feeling all right! (Hugs!!) Boy, do I miss you! I'm also in the same situation you were, when it comes to being in hiatus from AIR for long. Anyways, I'm also a Ping-Pong fiend myself and me and my friends and fam play together. We got this huge ping pong table in our garage. Me and my bro used to play all summer long, but now not often because he spends more time gaming and interacting with friends online. Well, great parody! You still got it!! 555.
Blaydeman - September 10, 2011 - Report this comment
(AofA) Well I loved the topic choice! Very creative use of the topic assignment "sports". I found emphasis issues on a few lines, but overall, great job.

Ages...I tried more than once, and I couldn't get several parts of this to pace...sorry. =( I did enjoy it though...I play most of my ping pong on the Wii these days...it's safer for me, and my opponent if I don't have a real ball to hit around. haha.
Andria - September 15, 2011 - Report this comment
Thank you all for v/c and Ages participation...
Matthias: Forrest was a funny one... the movie was pretty good, but I love the soundtrack more.

CMM: I'm glad to be at the other end of all this (I will e-mail w/ details or Facebook message you when I get time to), and your v/c is appreciated. My ping-pong table got broken in the process of a move, and it went to the landfill, with the net, balls and paddles given to Goodwill.

Blaydeman: Thank you... I admit I have struggled with emphasis before, and I haven't written in a while. Hopefully my next parody will be better...

Arwen: Thanks... your pacing problem was probably related to the emphasis issues Blaydeman brought up. I haven't actually played ping-pong since I almost put out my friend Nadia's left eye with the ball while we were playing ping-pong and taking Everclear jello shots. (long story, not for AIR) We are probably both better off playing it on a Wii.

Great work, I think the pacing was wee bit off in a few places, but great OS and nice lyrics here!

I as well had some trouble with pacing in certain spots, but still you did good. NIce work!

(Ages3) Whatever you do, don't play "Sting Table Tennis". Basically, when you win a point, you get the smack the ball as hard as you can at the other person's chest. Yeah, painful. Anyway, interesting parody, quite well done apart from a few pacing quibbles here and there. 555 for you!
