Song Parodies -> "OxiClean™"

Original Song Title:

"Yesterday"

Original Performer:

The Beatles

Parody Song Title:

"OxiClean™"

Parody Written by:

Fiddlegirl and Tommy Turtle

The Lyrics

Inspired by Warren Baker's comment -- actually, we took it as a friendly challenge ;) -- at yesterday's Bleach Bash. Thanks for the idea to complete the trilogy, Warren!

OxiClean
It's the stuff to add to wash' machine
It will give your clothes a shiny sheen
Oh, I believe
In OxiClean

Oh, pew-eee!
In the children's room, do I smell pee?
OxiClean their diapers, thoroughly
Oh, messy stain
Cleans stubbornly

Why ... they ... had to go
In their pants, I just don't know
Did .... I .... train them wrong?
Something strong:
Need Oxi-cle-e-e-an

Laundry day:
It's not easy driving stains away
Now they've peed in places: Tide™? Oy, vay!
Use OxiClean
That's what I say

Why .... the ... carpet's filled:
Choc'late spilled, as rugrats play
In ... bed ... wet their drawers
Urine pours
Can't wait tilll da-a-a-ay?!?

OxiClean
It's the pillar upon which I lean
For my baby; Grandma; eldest teen
Oh, I "Depend"™
On OxiClean

Stain? Don't grieve; use OxiClean......

We're thinking of the same tune at the same time. This could almost be a commercial jingle. Hire a punk band to sing it so it would fit into the 30-second format.

Only 5-5-5! BUT WAIT - THERE'S MORE!! Act now and you'll receive the COMPLETE collection of Fiddlegirl and Tommy Turtle hits! ;D

Loved the "info"parody!

Hilarious. Instructions: Apply and scrub for 55.5 hours.

You might expect to pay $1000 for an entire year's supply of oxiclean! But you can get it for the low price of $555!
John Barry - March 04, 2010 - Report this comment
A nice clean parody.

Patrick: It must be ESPN! Great idea there, to cram it into time allotted. Thanks for v/c, and as our agent, you get 10% of whatever you can sell the finished commercial for. :-D

Old Man Ribber: It's tough to make a living these days, so:
Rolllin', rollin', rollin'
Our payola, roll in
Products we're extollin'
Till our pockets: swollen
No pride!

Mark Scotti: It'll be on TV at 3:30 next Tuesday morning -- don't miss it! :-D

Jonathan S. They said it would help if we used elbow grease, but I couldn't find any at the store... thanks for v/c!

Phil Nelson: He Speaks! (faint) j/k!!!! LOL, and thanks for v/c!

John Barry: As opposed to many of TT's not-so-clean ones -- not to mention thine :) (Physicists call it "The Fiddlegirl Effect".) Thanks for v/c.

2Eagle: It keeps the ol' shell shiny... thanks for v/c.

TJC: More ESPN! TT's email to FG of draft was titled "Oxi-moron". All us sick minds think alike... ;)

Warren Baker: Comment to OMR might be a good start... and actually, FG *had* suggested a whole series on cleaning products -- could go either way. Or both. Or none. ..... Great job of spinoff comment! (psst! you can make whole parodies out of those -- *trust me*! :-) Thanks for v/c/i (inspiration)!

But Merry, you can't spell "Parody" without "Pee"! :)

Another squeaky clean parody! Brushing and scrubbing 555 stains for this one with OxyClean!

Christie Marie M: Thanks -- more on Friday, methinks -- and knock 'em out with your latest project!

I have been known to give long comments on occasion, when I feel like it. Hencetoforth, all long comments are an expression of my thoughts at the time and hereby when I don't have any particular thoughts on a parody I give a short comment. So whatever I say depends on my thoughts on the parody at the time. But you should never infer that I like it less because of a short comment. Rather, I just have no particular funny quip to put up at the time. And that sometimes means the parody was so good that it temporarily stifled my creativeness. In due course, at the appropriate juncture, in the fullness of time, I give long comments.
Jonny S. @ Phil - March 05, 2010 - Report this comment
I'm kinda like that, too.

Phil Nelson and Jonny S.: I had that coming to me :-)... Phil, LOL and a ZING comeback to TT. I never inferred that you didn't like them (else you'd have voted lower). And we all get pressed for time at times. It was intended to be a quip of surprise vs. the general conciseness (loved the line about "so good that it temporarily stifled my creativeness" :-D)

We haven't been crossing paths for very long since your return after a long absence, and it was the first comment I'd seen that was of any length. Look at it this way: You help balance out TT's long-winded oratories -- like this one. :-D Cheers to both -- *always* appreciate *any* comment (esp. favorable, don't we all) and just taking the time to read the parody.

"Brevity is the soul of wit." ("Hamlet", Act 2 scene 2). You should try it some time. Mr. Turtle.

Hoist by my own petard!
Phil Nelson @ TT (also read comment on other parody) - March 05, 2010 - Report this comment
I know you know I like them, just was explaining in case anyone thought otherwise on their parodies. It was a general explanation. Yeah, I don't usually have the time for long comments either. As for "quip of surprise" I know, it was funny. All that was just an explanation. Must've just been a coincidence that I put short comments on yours. Thanks.
