Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

For those not in the know, Syobon Action is a Japanese fan-made Mario game with a twist: There are many hidden death traps in places that players would least expect them. I have managed to beat this game, and you can too if you try hard enough. Fortunately, reading parodies is not as likely to cause keyboard-pounding rage, so enjoy! DKTOS? (Check out Uranium's version too!)
Ah, look at all the hardcore gamers!
Ah, look at all the hardcore gamers!

Syobon Action looks like those Mario games that you see every day,
Until you play.
That’s when it hits you:
This game is filled with a whole smorgasbord of death traps,
You will get zapped.

All the hardcore gamers,
This game will make you one.
All the hardcore gamers,
They think this game is fun.

Syobon Action came from Japan and made its mark on the internet.
No game had yet
Offered such challenge,
Killing the folks who used their knowledge of platform games,
It’s not the same.

All the hardcore gamers,
This game will make you one.
All the hardcore gamers,
They think this game is fun.

Ah, look at all the hardcore gamers!
Ah, look at all the hardcore gamers!

Syobon Action carries a glitch where you somehow get infinite lives,(1)
And that’s no jive!
However, this means
You could get stuck in an infinite virtual grave,(2)
And you can’t save.

All the hardcore gamers,
(Ah, look at all the hardcore gamers!)
This game will make you one.
All the hardcore gamers,
(Ah, look at all the hardcore gamers!)
They think this game is fun.
NOTES:

1-Yes, it's true. You actually get infinite lives without having to input any cheat codes.
2-The game has no save system, so you must beat it in one sitting (or at least pause & come back to it later).

I'm not a gamer by any stretch but you have written this well enough that I have a very good idea of how the game is played. Also it caught my eye because it is Japanese and I lived in Japan for over three years and it is just like the Japanese to make a game that you can't save. They can be some tough cookies when they want to be. - DJ Blaze needs to read this. He is a gamer and writes a lot of gamer stuff. I think he'd like this one. Unlike the game that gives you infinate lives amiright cannot give you infinate fives - but I'll give you the max and that's three of them. Nice write Dylan.

Dylan Baranski, he wrote a song about playing a video game, it wasn't lame. I usually have a hard time "getting" the gaming parodies because I don't play, but this was easy to follow. Good job.

Guy is right: I am a hardcore gamer! Sadly, I've never heard of Syobon Action, but it sounds like a great game. I'll download it sometime. 555
