The Lyrics

One thing about "The Dark Knight" that stuck in my head, besides the pencil trick(no pun intended!) was a line that Alfred Pennyworth says to Bruce Wayne. Here's that line. (Alfred Pennyworth):" A long time ago, I was in Burma, my friends and I were working for the local government. They were trying to buy the loyalty of tribal leaders by bribing them with precious stones. But their caravans were being raided in a forest north of Rangoon by a bandit. So we went looking for the stones. But in six months, we never found anyone who traded with him. One day I saw a child playing with a ruby the size of a tangerine. The bandit had been throwing them away." (Bruce Wayne): "Then why steal them?" (Alfred Pennyworth): "Because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn."

Master Wayne,'fore you were born.
I had served, both God and Queen.
Burma is where I had served
buying favors from local teams.

Caravans were robbed of gems
all their chests-were picked clean
Months later,I found a kid
with a gem like a tangerine!

Gem was big like a Ruby Tangerine
Ruby Tangerine, Ruby Tangerine
Gem was big like a Ruby Tangerine
Ruby Tangerine, Ruby Tangerine

That giant gem had underscored
The fact the perp was very bored
This was how he liked to play...

Gem was big like a Ruby Tangerine
Ruby Tangerine,Ruby Tangerine.
It was big like a Ruby Tangerine
Ruby Tangerine,Ruby Tangerine.

Gem was big like a Ruby Tangerine
Ruby Tangerine, Ruby Tangerine
Gem was big like a Ruby Tangerine
Ruby Tangerine, Ruby Tangerine

Cause the perp had tossed the loot,(tossed the loot?)
out like the Orange substitute...(substitute?)
We had vowed-(Right we did!)-to get this clown (Get that clown!)
So we burned-(Yeah,we burned!) the forest down! (Burn it down! Ha ha!)

We all razed the Burmese Jungle Clown!
Burmese Jungle Clown! The Burmese Jungle Clown!
We all razed the Burmese Jungle Clown!
Burmese Jungle Clown! The Burmese Jungle Clown!
Hey,it's been awhile but it's nice to be back!

Holy obscurity, Batman: You took what could have been a throwaway line from a movie packed with enough great scenes to make this one totally forgotten (I certainly forgot about it) and made a fantastic parody of it. As Batman and the Joker both proved, there's a fine line between genius and madness, and you've walked that line perfectly.
