Parody Song Title:

"Chick Flick To Eye"

Parody Written by:

Peter Andersson a.k.a K1chyd

The Lyrics

Here are some words of advice for younger men; when you and your girlfriend want to have a quiet evening at home with a pizza, coke, snacks and a rented movie, and you for some reason decide to split up so that one of you goes for the grub and the other one goes for the movie, then don't ever, ever, ever, never let her be the one who gets to pick the movie!

I feel so bad for that lad
He's down in dismay, yeah
The evening planned has gone bad
It's not near okay

She's brought a chick flick to eye
She's brought a chick flick to eye
She's brought a chick flick to eye
'Cos they're a pair

Her taste in new DVDs
Will bring more than frown, yeah
And she will cry if he leaves
So he is bummed down

She's brought a chick flick to eye
She's brought a chick flick to eye
She's brought a chick flick to eye
He's in despair

She don't know that her taste makes him sigh
But he's nice, though he'd like to plea
The cover hints that no-one will die
But he's nice, he nods an agree

I feel so bad for that lad
His balls' in decay, yeah
He's lost the freedom he had
Now he's a cliché

She's brought a chick flick to eye
She's brought a chick flick to eye
She's brought a chick flick to eye
He don't dare swear

She don't know that her taste makes him lie
That this film he has longed to see
The backside shows that Meryl Streep cries
And he fears that his brain will flee

He knows that speaking his mind
He'll sleep on the couch, yeah
And though it's not for his kind
There will be no grouch

She's brought a chick flick to eye
She's brought a chick flick to eye
She's brought a chick flick to eye
And that's not fair

(Increasing falsetto chorus)
That lad's been ensnared
That lad's been ensnared
That lad's been ensnared
That lad's been ensnared
That lad's been ensnared
© Peter Andersson. (Based on personal experiences and transformed to a third persons perspective only the name have been changed, i.e the incident/movie that came to mind involved/starred Meg Ryan, not Meryl Streep, but I needed the extra syllable for pacing).

LOL! Of course, you can always try the old switcheroo - "here honey, let me put that in the player...hey, there's been a mixup - they put Terminator 2 in this case for Driving Miss Daisy!"

fun concept and well executed..i can relate

I voting this a five, partly because it deserves it, and partly because Arwen told me to. Rex: You mean an appearance by Linda Hamilton with her magnificent guns -- and a few firearms, as well -- doesn't qualify as a chick flick?

i can't wait for The Simpsons, but in the meantime I watch both versions of The Producers. P.S. Your security code says you have 2pe.

Two words that mean the end of civilization for all men... "The Notebook"

Ahem. Not ALL of us like chick flicks...and even when they're decent, I'm not so cruel as to subject guys to them! Though for the record, "her tastes makes him sigh" isn't always a bad connotation...;)

Rex: Yes, once, maybe twice, no more.

Alvin: Thanks.

Michael: Because Arwen told you to? Now that's a surprise, I didn't figure you for a pussy whipped man, not with all those parodies of yours about standing up to Bush!

2Eagle: Huh?

Matthias: Yes, the little black book on the other hand...

Cat: I notice that you've added an extra s to make taste plural, and though I totally agree with your observation I'm afraid that would be a totally different parody, probably one for whatfreaks to that...

There's a difference, Peter: I'm not afraid of Bush's punishments, whereas Arwen can also reward.

Excellent concept, Peter. And I particularly like the "cliché" line. Fortunately, my wife has gotten to the point where she doesn't mind watching CFs by herself.

Blinded by chick flick films.

(SOTM) Already voted... great syllable matching to TOS, funny and relateable to boot. Lemme guess: "Sleepless in Seattle" was the film in question? =)

(SOTM) I managed to get out of watching "Steel Magnolias" to vote for this; hence, a thankful 555 ;-)

(SOTM) The day that a guy voluntarily watches a chick flick is a sure sign of the end of the world. Good one, Peter!

Thought I'd commented on this already - great stuff, Peter. Been there, done that... seen the movie.

(SOTM) first off, I love laboured titles, where the gag is in the labouring, and this was one of those - secondly, damned right, Peter! - I have been caught more than a dozen times by this little trick - I would never have seen Children Of A Lesser God otherwise - and lol to Cat's comment about her tastes making him sigh - funny one Peter - 555

SOTM - I am seriously tired of watching "Pride and Prejudice"... I can identify. That movie is watched entirely too often around my house.
Jack Wilson - August 31, 2007 - Report this comment
See above, Im sure youve been through the pain of watching "The Clueless Sisterhood Oft he Traveling Ya Ya Notebook Pants"

(SOTM) I was very 'so-so' mind set through this until the line "His balls' in decay, yeah" and it picked up from there. Excellent job from that point on. . .I can't say it's necessarily my favorite by you--but I liked it
