i don't want to boil this lobster, i call "joe"
he would quake in sickened torment, i know
his face is full of fear
and mine is filled with tears
if he burned up and was gone, i'd feel such woe

i've ate a shrimp or two, that i've prepared
but it wasn't really cruel, twas frozen fare
to roast him would be wrong
this water's hot and strong
i've heard they shriek and squawk when put in there

and his plight has made me sad
now, i love him
if i killed him, i'd feel bad
cause i love him

i've went and thought it through and find i care
its no fun to eat a friend with silverware
he'll stay alive and strong
i'm glad he's came along
