The Lyrics

I nominate the 365 days from June 18, 2006 to June 17, 2007 as the International Year of the Parody -- for it is in that period that Paul McCartney IS 64! (Sorry for the delay, but it was a busy weekend for me in the "non-line world," and I couldn't get this in by Sunday, June 18, Paul's actual 64th birthday.) This isn't so much about how old Paul IS, as it is about how he FEELS -- humble apologies to Linda for all the jokes about her keyboard playing and about how she was only in the band because of her husband... then again, it was Paul wanting to be with Linda, more than John wanting to be with Yoko, that caused the Beatles to break up.
(instrumental opening)

Now that I'm older
pulling my hair
over wife, and how!
I thought Heather would be a good valentine.
Birthday greetings? No, it's a whine!
How late she's yelling, quarter to three!
Then she'll nag some more!
She was my honey.
Now she wants money.
Now I'm 64!

Ringo's older, too.

John, and George, miss you, chaps.
Wish I was with you!

I could drink brandy, sipping with youse
if I now was gone.
Got to be much better than this second bride.
Swallow aspirin, they go for ride!
Taking those pills because of Ms. Mills.
Take 'em by the score!
She's been so needy.
She'll be so greedy.
Now I'm 64!

In divorce court, she has claimed
the cottage in the Isle of Wight.
Fine, that's for you, dear.
Jillion pounds I save!
(Jillion pounds you save!)

Grand juries we will see.
Verdict so depraved!

Send me a summons, drop me a line.
I have heard your view.
Indictate precisely what you mean to say:
"Marijuana, throw it away!"
Give me your answer, what will you eat?
Meat forevermore?
Guess I don't need you.
Expensive to feed you.
Now I'm 64!
Oy!

(instrumental close)
Anyway, Happy Birthday to Sir Cute One, the world's greatest living songwriter. Yes, Mr. Dylan, you wanted to say something?

I damned near had a stroke when I read "..humble apologies to Linda"; for a minute there I thought that was to a different Linda. Good work, funny flipping of TOS here, MP.

Thank you, everyone. No, Ant, it wasn't Terhune. And she's not the only Linda I have problems with, but that's a family issue that I won't get into here, but I'm not about to apologize to her, either.
