The Lyrics

How do you keep a guy with 500 home runs and 3000 hits out of the Baseball Hall of Fame? Rafael Palmeiro has now made it easy.
I think he's gonna be sad
on election day, yeah!
The Cooperstown chance he had
is goin' away!

Raffy Palmeiro, you lied!
Raffy Palmeiro, you lie-ie-ied!
Raffy Palmeiro, you lied!
We do so care!

He said he never did take
those substances banned, yeah!
Only Viagara is what
he had in his hand!

Raffy Palmeiro, you lied!
Raffy Palmeiro, you lie-ie-ied!
Raffy Palmeiro, you lied!
We do so care!

I don't know why his totals are high.
He shoulda thought twice
he oughta done right
by us!
In front of Congress he went and lied.
He shoulda thought twice
he oughta done right
by us!

I think he's gonna be sad
on election day, yeah!
The Cooperstown chance he had
is goin' away!

Raffy Palmeiro, you lied!
Raffy Palmeiro, you lie-ie-ied!
Raffy Palmeiro, you lied!
We do so care!

I don't know why his totals are high.
He shoulda thought twice
he oughta done right
by us!
In front of Congress he went and lied.
He shoulda thought twice
he oughta done right
by us!

He said he never did take
those substances banned, yeah!
Only Viagara is what
he had in his hand!

Raffy Palmeiro, you lied!
Raffy Palmeiro, you lie-ie-ied!
Raffy Palmeiro, you lied!
We do so care!

He thought we don't care!
He thought we don't care!
He thought we don't care!
He thought we don't care!
(repeat 'til fade)

RP's performance, so to speak, in front of Congress reminded me of Clinton's finger-wagging: "I did not have steroidal relations with that substance!" 5s

The Rangers, Palmeiro's former club, was off last night so I didn;t wach the news. When I turned on ESPN this morning and saw the story, I told my self...."I bet Pacholek already has one about this"....I love it when I'm right, roughly once every 10-12 years on average. This averages out to 555

As long as Pepsi remains a legal substance, I'll keep crankin' 'em out. After all, somebody has to catch Malcolm.

Very, very good. I enjoyed it... too bad baseball's problems have gotten this deep in. 5's all around.

Congratulations on joining The 700 Club, Michael. Now you can shine Pat Robertson's shoes. Oh, and by the way --- I was completely unaware that I unintentionally voted fives on this parody.

Here's what the Parody Authors List looked like back on July 28, 2004, at the time of The Great Vote Deletion:

Well put, MP. It is unfortunate that Palmeiro's revelation gives credibility to Jose Canseco.

Very sad. Raffy seemed like one of the good guys. It's too bad, really.

And if "The Surreal Life" is any indication, both Canseco and Omarosa are suddenly looking better than Janice Dickinson and Bronson "Balki" Pinchot! I would've dropped big coin on the reverse... if I had big coin, that is.

Just saw this - nice job - and I admire your timeliness. Further to JB's comments, that was the second thing I thought of - didn't anybody learn anything from the situation involving the great President Clinton? Anyway, Maris had an asterrisk, Aaron never got the recognition that he was due and Pete has been banned from the hall - all pure records. I hope Bonds never returns and I think cheaters such as Bonds, Palmiero, McGwire, etc. should not be allowed to get a plaque in the Hall. Make a separate room for the cheaters and detail what went on. And lift the ban on Pete Rose - truly one of the most exciting players who I ever saw play the game. bob
